According to Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, manager of a tourist attraction in Da Lat, while in the past, tourists simply admired the beautiful scenery, the decorations, the arrangement of models and flowers, praised the beauty if they liked it, took photos as souvenirs, and then left, now this seems only suitable for older tourists.
In reality, the age of tourists is getting younger, while older tourists, loyal to traditional forms of tourism, account for a small market share and have limited spending. Therefore, continuously innovating and creating business models that suit the tastes of tourists has become a top priority for those working in the tourism industry in Da Lat over the past 5 years. Recognizing this trend, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Quan Quy (residing in Ward 12, Da Lat City), a professional investor in the tourism sector, and his associates regularly develop ideas, build, and innovate their tourist destinations.
Quy and his colleagues target tourists under 50 years old. Therefore, the motto when developing tourist destinations is "sell what customers need" rather than "sell what we have." Thus, uniqueness, aesthetics, novelty, creativity, and the constant introduction of new models and products, especially high levels of interaction with tourists, are top priorities for tourism professionals like Quy.
Tourists enjoy participating in tubing activities at Langbiang Land.
According to Mr. Quy, besides satisfying the visual senses of tourists, tourist attractions also aim to provide enjoyable sensory experiences. These include free games that attract young tourists such as inflatable raft sliding and scooter sliding, and friendly animals that are close to humans. Da Lat city and its surrounding areas are seeing an increasing number of attractive tourist destinations such as Binh Yen Stream, Love Bridge, Dog Farm, Mongo Land, Langbiang Land… During the recent April 30th and May 1st holidays, these new tourist spots experienced impressive growth, surpassing even some long-established and well-invested tourist areas in Da Lat.
The owner of a family-run tourist attraction in Da Lat said that on some days, his family's attraction welcomes nearly 5,000 visitors. Entrance fees and service usage fees are linked to the tax authorities, and taxes are deducted directly as soon as visitors pass through the gate.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province, the local tourism industry continues to achieve good growth. In the first six months of 2025, the total number of visitors to Lam Dong for sightseeing and relaxation is estimated at over 6.2 million people, an increase of 22.9% compared to the same period in 2024, reaching 56.5% of the 2025 plan. Of these, international visitors are estimated at 495,000 people, an increase of 64.5% compared to the same period. To attract tourists, the Lam Dong provincial tourism industry has intensified promotion and advertising to introduce the potential and strengths of the tourism industry in several provinces and cities nationwide. In addition, Lam Dong province has also promoted tourism in India, South Korea, Belgium, the Netherlands, etc., introducing the strengths of Da Lat - Lam Dong tourism to foreign delegations.
According to Mr. Tran Thanh Hoai, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province, in the coming time, the locality will continue to prioritize the development of four key product groups: ecotourism associated with sightseeing and culture; resort and entertainment tourism; adventure sports tourism; and agro-tourism, while diversifying tourism product groups to support health care, culinary tourism, and spiritual tourism.
The tourism industry in Da Lat – Lam Dong is increasingly improving with 3,211 accommodation establishments offering 41,325 rooms. Of these, 450 hotels (1-5 stars) provide 13,367 rooms, including 56 high-end 3-5 star hotels (4,903 rooms) and 394 1-2 star hotels (8,464 rooms). Lam Dong province currently has 58 tourist areas and attractions, including one national tourist area, three provincial-level tourist areas, and 21 tourist sites officially recognized by the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee to serve the sightseeing and entertainment needs of tourists. The strong growth of the tourism industry has created jobs and stable income for approximately 14,600 workers.
