A variety of attractive activities

Most recently, Dreamcatcher – one of the annual events organized by WITH Project – aims to create a creative and connected learning space. The event offers practical and insightful sharing from experienced students from many specialized and prestigious high schools in Hanoi who have successfully navigated the entrance exams with effort and determination. In addition, the event creates an engaging learning environment where students not only review knowledge in a novel way but also explore unique craft activities, make friends, and socialize with their peers.

The program involved students from 55 specialized and non-specialized schools in Hanoi . This event, part of the 5th season of the series, features four main activity areas: Counseling Activities, Craft Activities (DIY projects), Gamezone, and Teabreak - Gift Exchange Booth. With this event, WITH Project aims to be a trusted companion, helping students overcome their anxieties and concerns, and confidently embark on their journey to conquer the 10th grade entrance exam.

Speaking to a reporter from Vietnam Law Newspaper, the event organizers stated that the pressure of the entrance exam comes not only from the scores but also from the stressful preparation process, causing both students and parents to feel more anxious than ever. In this context, the Dreamcatcher event has become a meaningful source of moral support for students during this crucial final stage.

The program not only provides up-to-date and accurate information about the 10th grade entrance exam but also accompanies students through meaningful activities, helping them build smart and effective study strategies. Here, students have the opportunity to discover themselves, hone their skills, and access useful advice from older students. Dreamcatcher is not simply an exam preparation event, but a journey of support – helping students enter the exam with more confidence, proactiveness, and resilience than ever before.

Last March, the Science Fair 2025 took place. With the theme “Pixaverse,” students from Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for Gifted Students brought engaging and visually stimulating science experiences to 3,000 attendees. Science Fair is a non-profit science fair held annually by the Society of Open Science – the science club affiliated with Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for Gifted Students. Over eight seasons, the fair has become a familiar destination for young science enthusiasts across the city. This year, the fair was inspired by Disneyland. The Science Fair organizers aimed to recreate a “science amusement park,” offering enriching learning and playing experiences along with family-friendly activities.

This year's Science Fair marks the first time the organizers have expanded its scope to include locations outside of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for Gifted Students. With 7 diverse zones ranging from experiments to hands-on activities, the Science Fair offers participants a comprehensive approach to the colorful world of science, spanning multiple fields and in various forms.

The science fair at Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for Gifted Students has become a familiar destination for students passionate about exploring the diverse and rich world of science. In particular, through the fair, elementary and middle school students get to visit Amsterdam High School and gain motivation to study hard with the hope of being admitted to this prestigious school.

In fact, at the end of March and beginning of April, schools hold activities and fairs open for parents and students to participate, have fun, and learn about the school. This is a way to help high school students become more active and develop skills before turning 18. Furthermore, thanks to these interesting and dynamic experiences at the schools, many parents and students have been able to choose a learning environment that nurtures their passions during their three years of high school.

Leaving behind meaningful experiences for the students.

Under pressure from the entrance exam to grade 10, junior high school students have many concerns and questions before embarking on this important life journey. The Dreamcatcher event helped alleviate some of their anxieties. Simultaneously, with a series of exciting entertainment booths, participants could play games, create handicrafts, share academic knowledge, and more. The event left a lasting positive impression on participants, especially the students preparing for their transition to high school.

At the Dreamcatcher event, Le Bao Chau (9A3, Ngo Si Lien Secondary School) excitedly shared: “I found the staff cheerful, sociable, and friendly. During these stressful exam preparation days, participating in the event helped me relax without neglecting my studies. I personally participated in the Gamezone area and was able to have fun with exciting games while also reviewing my knowledge through those beneficial games.”

Nguyen Duc Quang (9A5, Van Dien Town Secondary School) said that he received dedicated advice from senior students at many high schools. This helped him assess his own aspirations. Furthermore, the counseling team assisted him in developing an effective study plan for the crucial months leading up to the exam.

This year's science fair at Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for Gifted Students attracted over 3,000 students and parents from various parts of Hanoi. The fair featured many interesting and practical science activities, such as the application of virtual reality technology and science experiments conducted inside a balloon. All of these were meticulously researched by the students before the fair was held.

Tran Phan Dieu Huong (11th grade Russian class, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for Gifted Students) - Co-Head of the Organizing Committee shared: “Over the past two months, nearly 150 members of our Organizing Committee have worked together to develop the program framework, brainstorm event decorations, secure funding, and find and build experimental models for the event. The preparation process for the fair was an opportunity for us to hone both our professional skills and event organization abilities, and we were able to connect and discuss with young people across the city who share a passion for science. Our greatest success is the support of everyone, especially young people and parents. This is a huge motivation for us to continue striving to improve and bring about groundbreaking events in the future.”

Currently, the 2018 general education program is being implemented comprehensively, emphasizing practical application and competency assessment. This requires students to be more comprehensively prepared in both knowledge and skills. Besides classroom learning in academic subjects, students are paying attention to self-improvement through extracurricular activities. Therefore, student-organized activities are being supported and actively assisted by schools. Thanks to student-organized fairs and events, parents and schools can assess students' practical abilities after classroom lessons. From there, adjustments can be made to develop students' abilities, strengths, and advantages.

In particular, events organized by students themselves leave behind beautiful and vibrant student memories for participants. They have memorable moments that strengthen bonds with friends and teachers. Furthermore, for elementary and middle school students, science fairs, events, and exhibitions organized by schools can be the "key" to unlocking their future paths. Therefore, schools should prioritize and support the model of organizing festivals and events for students to realize their ideas.
