In Mo Duc district, traveling along rural roads, many people are delighted by the vibrant flowerbeds lining both sides of the road. Under the sunlight, portulaca, cosmos, impatiens, and yellow jasmine bloom in profusion, creating a dazzling and lively scene.
These vibrant flower-lined roads are the result of the collective efforts and dedication of women's associations at all levels in the district. After more than five years since its launch, the "Flower Road" model has received a positive response from a large number of members. Not only women's association members, but many families also voluntarily work together to care for the flowers every day, keeping the rural roads fresh and colorful.

Flower-lined village roads not only beautify the countryside but also create a peaceful and refreshing living environment. These pathways, overflowing with colorful flowers, breathe new life into the rural landscape, making everyone who passes through feel relaxed and at ease. "Since the flower-lined roads were created, everyone is happy. The village is much cleaner and more beautiful. Everywhere feels more pleasant and comfortable than before," shared Mrs. Tran Ngoc Dieu from Duc Hoa commune.

In rural villages and hamlets, flower-lined roads are gradually replacing the patches of weeds and makeshift garbage dumps that were common before.
In April, traveling along the road to Hamlet 1, Duc Chanh Commune, passersby are quite delighted by the vibrant cosmos flowers blooming on both sides of the road. The colorful flowerbeds wind along the concrete road, seemingly enticing passersby to slow down and admire them. Few know that, in the past, these areas were covered in weeds.
"Previously, both sides of this road were covered in weeds, and in many places, people even dumped garbage indiscriminately, causing environmental pollution. But since the women joined hands to clean up and plant flowers, the road has become much cleaner and more beautiful," shared Mr. Do Tan Khoa from Duc Chanh commune.

According to Huynh Thi Thuy Trang, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Mo Duc District, the "Flower Road" model was initiated and implemented by the Union from 2021 to the present. With the enthusiastic participation of all levels of the Union, there are now 42 "Flower Roads" in the district, planted and cared for by female officials and members. The model not only beautifies the landscape but also gradually changes people's awareness of environmental protection, raising awareness of maintaining cleanliness in their homes, villages, and hamlets.
Recently, in order to maintain and develop the model, as well as to raise awareness and enhance the positive and core role of female cadres, members, and the people in preserving the environment and actively participating in building new rural areas and civilized urban areas, the Women's Union of the district coordinated with relevant agencies and units to organize the "Model Flower Road" competition.
This competition received enthusiastic participation from the Women's Union of 12 communes and towns in the district. During the process, each commune and town selected the most beautiful flower-lined road, with each road at least 300 meters long, to participate in the competition. After a month of implementation, the organizing committee judged and awarded prizes to the participating units.

“The ‘Model Flower Road’ contest is one of the activities in response to the ‘Bright - Green - Clean - Beautiful’ movement in Mo Duc district, creating a green, clean, and beautiful environment, contributing to building a new rural district, improving the quality of life and happiness of the people. Not stopping at the contest, the flower roads continue to be maintained and cared for, creating an increasingly vibrant appearance for the countryside,” said Huynh Thi Thuy Trang, President of the Women's Union of Mo Duc district.
Besides the flower-lined roads planted and cared for by female officials and members, many residents have also proactively planted flowers along the roads and alleys in front of their houses. The movement to plant flowers along roads has truly spread to every village, hamlet, and household. The formation of these flower-lined roads has changed people's awareness of environmental hygiene; their consciousness of beautifying the landscape of their villages and hamlets has been significantly raised. In areas where flowers have been planted, there is no longer the problem of people littering or grazing livestock along the roads as before.

To contribute to creating a more vibrant landscape and appearance, the District Party Committee and the People's Committee of Mo Duc District have set a target that by the end of 2025, the entire district will plant and maintain flower-lined roads, green trees, and ornamental plants, striving to achieve over 60% of the total kilometers of roads at all levels covered by flowers, ornamental plants, and green fences.
The vibrant flower-lined roads not only beautify the countryside of Mo Duc, but also serve as vivid evidence of the positive changes in the awareness and actions of the people. Through simple, practical actions, female officials, members of women's associations, and residents here are contributing to building a new rural area that is not only green, clean, and beautiful, but also civilized, compassionate, and full of vitality.
