Spread the electricity saving movement

Currently, electricity saving has been actively responded by many agencies, businesses and households in the province, thereby contributing to reducing the maximum power capacity during peak hours of the power system, reducing the overload of the power grid, especially during the peak dry season (from April to July every year) when electricity demand increases, protecting the environment and national resources.

Ninh Binh Electricity One Member Co., Ltd. works with Ninh Binh Phosphate Fertilizer Joint Stock Company on the electricity saving program.

As a unit that uses a lot of electricity in production, Ninh Binh Phosphate Fertilizer Joint Stock Company always determines that using electricity effectively and saving electricity is one of the practical measures to help the Company reduce costs and increase product competitiveness.

The company has proactively replaced and improved equipment; increased the use of electricity for production during off-peak hours, minimized the use of high-power consuming equipment during peak hours; turned off electrical equipment and light bulbs inside and outside warehouses when not in production, used electricity in accordance with needs, avoiding unnecessary waste of electricity; increased cleaning, maintenance, inspection, detection and repair of hot spots on the power grid such as switches and connection points to limit increased power consumption at locations with poor contact...

Comrade Pham Hong Son, Deputy Director of Ninh Binh Phosphate Fertilizer Joint Stock Company said: Currently, the production of fused phosphate fertilizer for the energy part including electricity and coal, accounts for about 30-40% of the production cost, in which the energy consumption structure at the Company uses about 40 KW of electricity/ 1 ton of fused phosphate fertilizer. Due to that characteristic, the requirement for energy saving has been set by the Company for a long time, included in the annual plan.

To reduce production costs and implement the Law on Energy Conservation, the Company has proposed measures to reduce energy consumption such as improving fused phosphate production technology, reducing norms, increasing labor productivity; renovating blast furnaces, investing in frequency inverters, replacing lighting systems with LED lights; researching and surveying the installation of rooftop solar power systems... Thereby, saving 1-2% of electricity each year. In 2024, the Company will produce over 235 thousand tons of products.

In industrial parks and clusters, where electricity consumption is high in production, companies and businesses have been proactively implementing solutions to save electricity effectively.

Mr. Bui Van Thuan, Head of Technical Department of MCNEX VINA Co., Ltd., Phuc Son Industrial Park (Hoa Lu City) said: MCNEX VINA Company is a unit that uses a lot of electricity for production. In the past time, the Company has implemented the most optimal solutions to save electricity such as using air conditioners with smart controls that automatically adjust in the production area; using LED lights instead of fluorescent lights; turning off electrical systems and air conditioners at non-operating lines; using inverter air conditioners in the administrative area... In 2024, the Company saved more than 1 billion VND in electricity bills.

The grinding and drying workshop of Ninh Binh Phosphate Fertilizer Joint Stock Company has reasonable production time and increased production outside off-peak hours.

Currently, Ninh Binh province is supplied with electricity from 5 sources: Ninh Binh 220kV Station, Nho Quan NC 220kV Station, Ninh Binh Thermal Power Plant; power connection from the line to Nghia Hung 110kV Station (E3.10), Bim Son 220kV Station (E9.20).

To ensure electricity supply for daily life, production and business, Ninh Binh Electricity Company has established a priority load order as well as a power supply plan in cases of power shortage, which has been approved by departments, branches, and the Provincial People's Committee; promoting the implementation of the energy saving program according to Directive No. 20/CT-TTg dated June 8, 2023 of the Prime Minister .

Propaganda work on saving electricity has been carried out regularly and effectively, creating changes in electricity usage habits of each citizen, raising awareness in the community, becoming concrete actions in using electricity economically.

In 2024, the Company saved 2.4% of electricity. At the same time, the Company signed a voluntary non-commercial DR agreement with 105 customers, with a potential reduction of 46.38 MW.

To continue effectively implementing the electricity saving program, in 2025, Ninh Binh Electricity One Member Co., Ltd. signed a commitment to save electricity with customer groups: Administrative and career, public lighting, industrial production and service business.

In which, the Government 's electricity saving targets must be achieved at least: The industrial production group must save at least 2% of total electricity consumption in the year; the public lighting group must save at least 30% of total electricity consumption in the year; the trade and service group must turn off or reduce at least 50% of outdoor advertising and decorative lighting capacity; the administrative and career group must save 5% of total electricity consumption in the year.
