Ms. Dao Thi My Huong from Truong Thanh commune said: “Along with Western medicine treatment, I went to the acupuncture clinic and my leg pain eased, making it easier to walk. Thanks to this clinic, poor people can receive treatment without spending money. Everyone here serves patients cheerfully and wholeheartedly, so people feel secure coming for examination and treatment.” It is because of this dedication that more and more people are coming for treatment and voluntarily serving at the clinics.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Tam, a member of the Can Tho City Acupuncture Association, shared: “My house is in Cai Khe ward. Three times a week, I drive to the clinic to participate in acupuncture treatments. Seeing people recover quickly makes me very happy.”
Learning from and following the thoughts, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh, the Management Board of Thien Truoc Holy Temple organizes many charitable and humanitarian activities, contributing to the effective implementation of social welfare policies. Mr. Nguyen Duy Ri, Head of the Management Board of Thien Truoc Holy Temple, informed: “President Ho Chi Minh taught that we must love people, first and foremost by showing love for the people, especially the poor and suffering. The members of the Management Board have incorporated teaching to encourage followers to learn from and follow Uncle Ho through practical actions: actively engaging in production and developing family economies to contribute to charitable and social activities; effectively implementing the Party's guidelines, policies, and laws of the State; and actively participating in patriotic emulation movements launched by the locality…”.
Over the past 10 years, the Management Board of Thien Truoc Holy Temple has also coordinated with various units to organize medical examinations, provide medicine, and donate gifts to thousands of people affected by natural disasters and in disadvantaged areas, with a total value of 640 million VND; organized the distribution of gifts to poor and near-poor households and those in difficult circumstances with a total value of over 1 billion VND; built and supported the construction of 11 charity houses and roads with a total value of 400 million VND; supported the purchase of health insurance for disadvantaged households and distributed gifts to poor but studious students worth 60 million VND; and organized medical examinations and donated gifts to people in Central Vietnam affected by storms and floods with a total value of 1.5 billion VND. From the beginning of 2024 until now, the Thien Tam vegetarian restaurant has served hundreds of free meals every morning.
During the summer holidays, the Management Board of Thien Truoc Temple organizes cultural, ritual, and moral training courses for students. This activity has been maintained for many years, and currently 70 students from grades 1 to 12 are enrolled in Math and English. Nguyen Quoc Anh from O Mon ward shared: “I'm about to enter grade 12. I participated in three summer courses. The teachers taught me Math, English, life skills, and games. At the end of the course, my friends and I went on a trip to Ha Tien and Bac Lieu, which was a lot of fun.”
With the motto "Living a good life and upholding moral values," and "The nation prospers and the religion shines brightly," the Management Board of Thien Truoc Holy Temple has inspired a spirit of volunteerism among believers and society as a whole, working together to carry out many charitable social activities, helping many people overcome difficulties and rise up in life.
