The event was organized to commemorate the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2026) and the 85th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Organization (May 15, 1941 - May 15, 2026).

Prior to the awards ceremony, representatives of the winning teams and individuals participated in a ceremony to report their achievements and visited the Mausoleum of President Ho Chi Minh.

The competition "Uncle Ho with Children - Children with Uncle Ho," taking place from January to April 2026, has become a widespread political activity in schools nationwide.

The organizing committee received nearly 38,000 individual entries in both written and drawn formats on the theme "Good Children of Uncle Ho," along with nearly 200 group entries in the form of video clips on the theme "Continuing the Tradition - Proud to be Vietnamese Children" from all 34 provinces and cities.

Many primary schools, junior high schools, and ethnic boarding schools in remote, mountainous, border, and island areas have organized preliminary rounds and judging at their respective schools, demonstrating the strong reach of the competition.

The first prize-winning painting is by Pham Le Bao Tram (Class 5/5, Tran Van Du Primary School, Da Nang City).

The entries focused on expressing children's affection for Uncle Ho, linked to learning and following "5 things Uncle Ho taught" through many practical activities such as journeys to historical sites, visiting "red addresses," the "piggy bank" movement, helping friends overcome difficulties, cultural and artistic activities, STEM, and life skills education.

A highlight of this year's competition is the combination of traditional education and digital platforms. Many of the submitted video clips, posted on the social media platforms of the Youth Pioneer Newspaper and Children's Newspaper, have attracted thousands of interactions, contributing to the spread of inspiring stories and exemplary role models among children nationwide.

The organizing committee awarded a total of 104 prizes, including 46 team prizes and 58 individual prizes.

The judging panel, comprised of writers, poets, and journalists, selected the best works to award 58 prizes, including 9 collective awards and 49 individual awards.

According to the organizers, the success of the two competitions not only contributed to educating children about ideals, ethics, and lifestyles, but also created an environment for them to develop their creativity, nurture their love of literature, and foster gratitude towards President Ho Chi Minh and the traditions of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Organization.
