These days, Ms. Bui Thi Luong (born in 1963) is busy reviewing the donated rice and money to prepare for giving to disabled children at Huong Phuong parish, Quang Trach commune. This fundraising campaign received over 19 million VND and 250 kg of rice. This is a charitable activity regularly maintained by the Women's Association of Don Sa residential area to share and support those in difficult circumstances in the community.
Having been involved in local associations and humanitarian activities for many years, Ms. Luong has always been an active participant in the movements launched by the association. In particular, in 2023, she proactively mobilized resources from family, relatives, and benevolent individuals, raising over 100 million VND and 5 tons of rice to support disabled children, women, and poor children in extremely difficult circumstances.
The Women's Association of Don Sa Hamlet has over 200 members, many of whom still face difficulties in life. Understanding this, Ms. Luong has actively supported and guided members in accessing capital from the Social Policy Bank and job creation funds, helping 30 members borrow capital to develop their businesses , stabilize their lives, and achieve sustainable poverty reduction.

In addition to supporting livelihood development for members, Ms. Luong and the women in the branch also effectively maintain the "Piggy Bank" and "Green House" models, creating funds of tens of millions of VND each year to help women and children in difficult circumstances, contributing to spreading the spirit of "mutual support and compassion" in the community.
“I always remember the image of President Ho Chi Minh with his ‘rice jar for famine relief’ and his loving and sharing heart for his compatriots. Therefore, my sisters and I always remind each other to contribute a handful of rice each day, save money in piggy banks, and collect scrap materials to raise funds to help those in difficult circumstances. It’s a small contribution, but it’s a big one; everyone contributes what they can to spread love in the community,” Ms. Luong shared.
Not only is Ms. Luong the initiator and maintainer of community-based savings models, but she is also a member of the mediation team and the "Trusted Address in the Community" model of Don Sa residential area. From 2021 to the present, she has directly and collaboratively mediated 18 family conflicts successfully, contributing to preventing domestic violence, protecting women and children, and maintaining peace in the residential area.
In Don Sa residential area, where 100% of the population is Catholic, the people consistently exemplify the motto of living a "good life, beautiful faith," actively participating in patriotic emulation movements and social welfare activities. Under her leadership, the women's association members have built nine flower-lined roads and green fences managed by women; they have also participated in building the "Security Lighting" road, contributing to beautifying the landscape and ensuring security and order in the locality.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga , President of the Women's Union of Bac Gianh Ward, commented: "Ms. Bui Thi Luong is a dedicated and responsible branch leader, always at the forefront of the union's movements. The 'Rice Jar of Compassion,' 'Piggy Bank,' and 'Green House' models, which she and the members have maintained for many years, have become practical actions in studying and following the thoughts, morals, and style of Ho Chi Minh, contributing to spreading the spirit of mutual support and compassion in the community."
For her outstanding contributions to association work, humanitarian activities, and building happy families, Ms. Luong is being recommended by the local authorities to receive a commendation from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the period 2021-2025.
