These days, Chau-Ro village is bustling with activity, a lively atmosphere unlike usual. Everywhere you go, you hear discussions about the economic development goals set at the first Party Congress of the commune at the end of July: breakthroughs in industry, trade, and services. The Chau-Ro ethnic minority people are discussing this extensively because the 10th Party Congress of the village, for the 2025-2027 term, also set the goal of strengthening trade and services within the village. In fact, for many years now, several Chau-Ro households with better economic conditions have invested in various sectors, resulting in many positive changes to the village's appearance.
Elder Chau - Ro Tho De - Head of the Front Committee of Village 4, said: In recent years, the village has always focused on mobilizing the people to participate in emulation movements, especially in building rural roads. The village has mobilized people to donate land to clear the ground for the construction of a 3 km road with 100% of the funding supported by the State, and built concrete roads for agricultural production.
The village's Youth Union, in coordination with the Village Management Board, constructed a security lighting system along a road in Hamlet 2 and Hamlet 3, costing 40 million VND. They also built a welcome gate, repaired and decorated the village's cultural community house with 200 million VND in state investment. Furthermore, they coordinated efforts to build and repair 10 charity houses, worth 480 million VND... Chau-Ro village covers an area of approximately 455 hectares, of which 428 hectares are agricultural land, including: 162 hectares of annual crops (72 hectares of rice, 90 hectares of other crops) and 266 hectares of perennial crops (82.36 hectares of rubber trees, 120 hectares of pepper plants, 50 hectares of cashew trees, and 13.63 hectares of coffee plants). The village currently has a herd of 670 cattle, 95 pigs, 3,500 poultry, and 2.1 hectares of freshwater fish farming.
Besides the village elder Thổ Đệ, who is a successful businessman and has been recognized by the province as an outstanding farmer in production and business for many years, there are many other households in the village with relatively good economic conditions, earning 200-300 million VND annually. For example, Mr. Thổ Minh Tộc's household earns over 250 million VND per year from his tractor, melaleuca trees, banana plantations, etc.; Mr. Thổ Tấn Thành's household earns over 300 million VND from his combine harvester, rice fields, and banana plantations...
According to the village elder of Tho De, the villagers mainly live by farming, and industrial and service sectors are not yet well-developed. Currently, the village has 15 tractors and 2 rice harvesting machines belonging to Mr. Tho Minh Tap's family, one agricultural product purchasing point, and 5 small grocery stores serving the shopping needs of the village. Most young people work as factory workers in the surrounding areas, providing stable employment, increasing income, and improving the living standards of their families.
In the coming period, Chau-Ro village aims to effectively implement the "three rural issues" (agriculture, farmers, and rural areas), transferring science , technology, and techniques to each household to achieve the highest economic efficiency on the same area of land.
