A resolution stipulating that tuition fees will not be collected for the 2024-2025 school year from preschool children, public primary and secondary school students, and students studying at continuing education institutions following the general education program in Lao Cai province was passed on the morning of November 9th.

The resolution, adopted at the 23rd session of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Council, 16th term (2021-2026), addresses emerging issues. Accordingly, for the 2024-2025 school year, Lao Cai will not collect tuition fees from children, students, and trainees at all levels of education who are required to pay tuition fees according to Resolution No. 09/2024/NQ-HĐND dated July 5, 2024, of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Council, which stipulates the tuition fee rates for the 2024-2025 school year for public preschool and general education institutions in Lao Cai province.

The estimated funding for this support program from the provincial budget is 48.5 billion VND.

According to Vu Xuan Cuong, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council of Lao Cai, Typhoon No. 3 and its remnants caused serious damage to people and property in the province. Many families lost loved ones, homes, and property, making life very difficult.

Therefore, the proposal to issue a Resolution stipulating that tuition fees for the 2024-2025 school year will not be collected from preschool children, public primary and secondary school students, and students studying at continuing education institutions following the general education program in Lao Cai province is very necessary and timely, contributing to alleviating difficulties for parents and students in disaster-stricken areas of Lao Cai province.

In addition, the Session adopted Resolutions on land support policies for ethnic minorities in Lao Cai province; Resolutions on financial support for medical examination and treatment for Lao Cai provincial officials under the management of the Central Government, Provincial Party Committee, District Party Committee, Town Party Committee, City Party Committee and some other subjects; Resolutions on the policy of converting forest land use to other purposes; Resolutions on the list of works and projects requiring land acquisition and conversion of land use for socio-economic development for national and public benefit in Lao Cai province, supplemented in 2024...

To ensure the synchronized and effective implementation of the resolutions adopted at the session, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Council, Vu Xuan Cuong, requested the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, and the departments and agencies under the Provincial People's Committee, as well as relevant organizations, to prepare the necessary conditions to ensure timely and effective implementation; to fully inform voters in the province about the results of the session through appropriate means; and to inspect, urge, and supervise the organization and implementation of the resolutions.
