The People's Committee of An Cuu Ward has issued a letter urging residents to raise their awareness of fire prevention and control in cemetery areas, especially during the prolonged hot weather.
Local authorities advise people to burn votive paper in designated areas, avoid burning it in strong winds, water the surrounding area to cool it down before burning, and carefully check and only leave when the incense has completely burned out.
At the same time, people need to regularly clear weeds and keep the gravesite area clean. Do not burn grass or trash without ensuring fire safety conditions are met, and collect waste, incense sticks, and ceremonial items in designated areas.
