Leaked Literature exam questions for the 2023 high school graduation exam.

The Literature exam paper was leaked just 25 minutes after the exam. The Ministry of Education stated that it has requested the Department of Internal Political Security (A03) of the Ministry of Public Security to verify the information.

According to a representative from the Education Communication Center of the Ministry of Education and Training on the morning of June 28th, the Literature exam paper for the 2023 high school graduation exam was posted on social media at just after 8 AM, only 25 minutes after the exam began.

Images of the Literature exam paper circulating on social media show the exam being photographed in an examination room, alongside a sheet containing the exam regulations. Upon receiving this information, the Ministry immediately notified the Internal Political Security Department of the Ministry of Public Security to verify the information.

"Once we have the results, we will make an official announcement," he said. The Ministry of Education and Training initially assessed that the incident would not affect the exam as it likely only involved one candidate. The Ministry has not recorded any instances of exam question solving or guidance being provided outside the examination room.

The Ministry requests that examination boards continue to strengthen measures to prevent the use of high-tech devices in order to minimize the possibility of cheating in examination rooms, and to strictly manage exam papers in accordance with regulations.

On the morning of June 28th, over one million candidates took the Literature exam, starting at 7:35 AM and ending at 9:35 AM. Candidates were allowed to leave the exam room as early as two-thirds of the allotted time; however, in this case, they had to submit both the exam paper and scratch paper. This means that the exam paper could not be taken out of the exam room before 9:35 AM.

In the case of bringing a phone into the exam room and taking pictures of the exam questions, the candidate violated the regulations on bringing prohibited items into the exam room. These students will have their entire exam results canceled, meaning they will not be recognized as having graduated from high school. Last year, 50 students violated the regulations and were suspended from the exam. Of these, 6 students brought and used unauthorized materials, and 44 others brought and used phones in the exam room.

The high school graduation exam took place on June 28-29 with over one million candidates. Of these, more than 943,300 candidates used their results for both graduation recognition and university/college admissions.

Over the past two years, among approximately 980,000 candidates nationwide taking the Literature exam for the high school graduation exam, the average score was 6.5. A score of 7 was the most common. The number of candidates scoring below average in Literature ranged from 11-12% of the total number of exam takers.

After the Literature exam, candidates will continue with the Mathematics exam this afternoon for 90 minutes. Tomorrow, candidates will take the Foreign Language exam in the morning and one of the two combined exams, Natural Sciences or Social Sciences, in the afternoon.
