Which transportation and urban development projects in Ho Chi Minh City will commence or be completed before April 30th?

On April 11th, the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Construction Project Management Board for Transportation Works (Transportation Board) submitted a report to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on the plan to commence and complete transportation projects and packages in April 2025, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Specifically, the Ring Road 2 project, sections 1 from Phu Huu Bridge to Vo Nguyen Giap Street and section 2 from Vo Nguyen Giap Street to Pham Van Dong Street, will simultaneously commence the mine clearance contract.

In terms of scale, section 1 of the project, which is 3.5km long, has a total investment of 9,328 billion VND, while section 2, which is 2.5km long, has an investment of over 4,543 billion VND.

Also in April, the mine clearance contract for the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway will commence. The project has a total length of over 51km, with a total investment of 19,617 billion VND, implemented under a BOT (build-operate-transfer) contract.

In phase 1, the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway was invested in with a scale of four lanes, and at the same time, construction of infrastructure along the route, intelligent transportation systems, toll collection systems, rest stops, etc., ensuring synchronization and efficiency according to current standards and regulations.

Meanwhile, the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Infrastructure Investment and Construction Project Management Board (Infrastructure Board) has also just reported to the City People's Committee on the list of urban and flood control projects to be started.

Specifically, package XL-03 of the project to dredge, improve the environment, and build infrastructure for the Xuyen Tam canal will commence on April 19th.

The Xuyen Tam canal project is nearly 9km long, stretching from the Nhieu Loc - Thi Nghe canal to the Vam Thuat river, passing through Binh Thanh and Go Vap districts. The total investment for the project is 17,230 billion VND.

In addition, projects to upgrade the irrigation works on the right bank of the Saigon River from Provincial Road 8 to Tra Canal (north of Tra Canal), and to improve the drainage system for the "flood-prone areas" of Nguyen Van Khoi and Le Van Tho streets (Go Vap District) will also commence on April 19th and 25th, respectively.

Which contracts and projects will be completed before April 30th?

Before April 30th, a series of projects and contract packages were also opened to traffic by the investors. Specifically, the Infrastructure Board will conduct a technical opening of several sections under contract packages XL-07, XL-08, XL-09, and XL-10 of the Tham Luong - Ben Cat - Nuoc Len canal renovation project.
