After Apple released iOS 26 with many changes in interface and design, some iPhone users said they had problems with the touch keyboard, a bug that made typing more difficult than usual.

In addition to the Liquid Glass design and a series of interface updates, iOS 26 also makes many users feel confused when having to re-familiarize themselves with familiar menus and features. Some people reflect that the battery life on older iPhone models has decreased after upgrading. However, the most annoying thing recently is the keyboard-related error.

YouTuber Michi NekoMichi was the first to discover this error through a slow-motion video of typing on an iPhone running iOS 26. In the posted video, he shows that even when the user presses the correct character, the system still misrecognizes it. The autocorrect feature was turned off, and the word prediction function was not the main cause, because the interface shows the user pressing the correct position. For example, when typing the letter U, the device records it as J or H.

The video quickly went viral on YouTube and Reddit, garnering thousands of comments. Many people confirmed experiencing the same issue, saying the bug is not unique.

“I thought I was typing it wrong due to my age, turns out it was a software bug. I sent feedback to Apple,” one Reddit user wrote.

Another person who has been an iOS developer since 2018 said the keyboard issue has been around for years and hasn’t been resolved completely. “I don’t understand why the iPhone keyboard still has such basic issues. This should have been a top priority since iOS 10,” he said.

It is unclear how widespread the keyboard issue is globally, with some users reporting a significant increase in typing errors after upgrading to iOS 26, even on newer iPhone models like the iPhone 17.

According to NekoMichi, the tech community currently has no temporary solution for this problem other than sending feedback directly to Apple through the user portal. The company has also not made any official comments or patches related to the keyboard issue in iOS 26.
