Accordingly, over the past period, the province's journalistic and propaganda activities have consistently adhered to political tasks, always accompanying the Party Committee, government, and people of all ethnic groups in the province on their journey of innovation and development. The press system has been strengthened and developed in both quantity and quality, with 3 provincial press agencies, 12 central press agencies with representative offices and resident reporters, and nearly 300 journalists, reporters, and editors.

Chairman of the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee Tran Huy Tuan presented the A Prize of the 2024 Yen Bai Provincial Journalism Award to author Giang Du (Yen Bai Radio and Television Station) and author Pham Quang Thieu (Yen Bai Newspaper).

By leveraging its pioneering role on the Party's ideological front, the press in Yen Bai has affirmed its true role as an effective tool, an important force, and a leading force on the ideological front, disseminating and implementing political tasks, truthfully, vividly, and comprehensively reflecting the socio-economic picture of the province, closely following reality, and conveying the pulse of life through a flow of official and effective information.

The quality of journalistic work is constantly improving, and the position and brand of journalism and the team of journalists in Yen Bai are increasingly affirmed. Many of the best works, with the highest ideological value, honored and awarded at national and provincial journalism awards, are all exemplary works in terms of professionalism, innovation, and creativity.

Also on this occasion, the province organized the Yen Bai Journalism Award Ceremony 2024. This activity aims to honor outstanding journalistic works about the land and people of Yen Bai. Continuing the tradition of previous years, this year's Yen Bai Journalism Award attracted the participation of journalists from 11 media units and agencies with 125 entries; including 40 television works, 20 radio works, 47 print newspaper works, and 18 photojournalism works. From these, 41 outstanding works were selected to receive awards.

With diverse themes, rich content, and varied forms of expression, the entries submitted to the Award closely followed the mainstream current events of the country and the province; exploring issues in depth and from multiple perspectives, closely adhering to reality, and accurately and promptly reflecting the problems occurring in real life.

Comrade Ha Ngoc Van - Editor-in-Chief of Yen Bai Newspaper, Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association, presented certificates of commendation from the Provincial Journalists Association to 3 collectives for their outstanding achievements in professional activities and association work in 2023.

In particular, many works boldly addressed the negative aspects, shortcomings, and existing problems, clearly demonstrating the authors' commitment, the meticulousness, enthusiasm, and sense of responsibility of the writers and media organizations. Many works were highly critical, proposing insightful, scientifically-based, and feasible solutions to the persistent issues.

As a result, two A prizes were awarded at the 2024 Yen Bai Journalism Awards: the television program "The Story of the Forest Guardian at the Source of Che Tao" by the team of authors Giang Du, Nguyen Hoang, Anh Tuan, and A Lu (Yen Bai Provincial Radio and Television Station) and the written article "Building a Quality Succession for the Party – Yen Bai's Approach" by author Quang Thieu (Yen Bai Newspaper). The organizing committee also awarded 8 B prizes, 12 C prizes, and 19 Consolation prizes to outstanding journalistic works participating in the Awards. There were no A prizes awarded in the radio and photojournalism categories this year.

On this occasion, 10 members of the Provincial Journalists Association received the Commemorative Medal for the Cause of Vietnamese Journalism; 3 collectives and 17 individuals with outstanding achievements in professional activities and association work in 2023 received certificates of merit from the Provincial Journalists Association.
