Today, March 10, 2025, rice prices in the Mekong Delta region fluctuated slightly, with a fairly good market volume and stable prices for various rice varieties, while paddy prices tended to increase.


Rice prices in the Mekong Delta region today, March 10, 2025, remained relatively stable. Prices for all types of rice were steady, while fresh paddy prices tended to increase compared to the end of last week.

Regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the current prices are as follows: Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) increased by 100 VND/kg, fluctuating between 6,500 - 6,600 VND/kg; OM 18 rice (fresh) fluctuates between 6,400 - 6,500 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice (fresh) fluctuates between 5,700 - 5,900 VND/kg; IR 50404 rice (fresh) fluctuates between 5,500 - 5,600 VND/kg; OM 380 rice (fresh) fluctuates between 5,000 - 5,200 VND/kg; Nhat rice is at 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg; and Nang Hoa 9 rice is at 9,200 VND/kg.

Observations in many localities today show a better supply and stable buying and selling transactions. In Dong Thap, farmers are offering slightly higher prices for all types of rice, and rice transactions are stable, with traders securing purchases at firm prices. In Soc Trang , farmers are offering slightly higher prices for rice, but buying and selling transactions are slow.

In Hau Giang, farmers are offering their rice at relatively good prices, with prices increasing and demand weak. In An Giang, farmers are offering slightly higher prices, with rice prices remaining relatively stable compared to the end of the week, and transactions for new rice are consistent. In Kien Giang , farmers are offering slightly higher prices, with rice harvesting peaking in Tan Hiep and Giong Rieng, and trading is more active than at the end of the week.

Regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the current prices are as follows: OM 380 raw rice ranges from 7,850 - 8,000 VND/kg; IR 504 raw rice ranges from 8,150 - 8,200 VND/kg; OM 18 raw rice ranges from 9,300 - 9,500 VND/kg; 5451 raw rice ranges from 8,500 - 8,600 VND/kg; finished OM 380 rice ranges from 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg; and finished IR 504 rice ranges from 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg.

Regarding by-products, prices range from approximately 5,550 to 7,300 VND/kg. Currently, the price of fragrant broken rice is fluctuating between 7,100 and 7,300 VND/kg; broken rice (3-4 grades) has increased by 200 VND/kg, fluctuating between 6,600 and 6,700 VND/kg; and the price of dry rice bran is fluctuating between 5,550 and 5,700 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

According to reports from various localities today, rice supplies are low and prices are relatively stable. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), supplies are consistent, warehouses are buying in large quantities, good quality rice is easy to sell, and prices remain steady.

At Sa Dec market (Dong Thap province), warehouses are buying a considerable amount of various types of rice, including IR50404 rice, with stable prices for all varieties. In An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang province), rice is available intermittently, with fragrant rice prices slightly increasing and demand remaining steady.

At retail markets, rice prices remained stable compared to the weekend. Currently, Nang Nhen rice is listed highest at 28,000 VND/kg; regular rice fluctuates between 15,000 and 16,000 VND/kg; long-grain fragrant rice ranges from 20,000 to 22,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice is 22,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice ranges from 18,000 to 20,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice is at 22,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice is 21,000 VND/kg; common white rice is at 17,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice fluctuates around 18,000 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice is 21,000 VND/kg; and Japanese rice is 22,000 VND/kg.

On the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices remained stable today compared to the end of last week. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the current price for 5% broken rice is $389/ton; 25% broken rice is $364/ton; and 100% broken rice is $307/ton.
