Authorities are making efforts to search for a person who went missing while swimming in the Green River.

After receiving information about a person missing while swimming in the Green River in Vu Sa village, Ta Gia Khau commune, the People's Committee of Muong Khuong district directed and deployed forces to urgently search for the victim.

According to initial information, at 10:30 AM on June 4, 2025, the People's Committee of Ta Gia Khau commune received a report from the public about two citizens with permanent residence in Coc Cang village, Din Chin commune, who went missing while swimming in the Xanh River at around 8:00 AM the same day.

Forces and civilians are present at the area where the victim went missing.

Upon receiving the information, the People's Committee of Muong Khuong District directed the People's Committee of Ta Gia Khau Commune and mobilized military , police, border guard, militia, local security forces, and the people to organize a search, but without success. Due to heavy rain on the night of June 3, 2025, the river was high and flowing rapidly, and the high, treacherous cliffs on both banks made the search difficult.

Authorities are searching for the victim.

On June 5th, leaders of the Lao Cai Provincial Police and leaders of Muong Khuong District, along with a delegation from the province and district, visited to encourage the search and rescue forces to overcome difficulties; and directed the search and rescue forces to expedite the search for victims.

The leaders of the Lao Cai Provincial Police and the leaders of Muong Khuong District encouraged the forces participating in the search for the missing victim on the Xanh River.

In addition, the leaders of the Lao Cai Provincial Police Department requested that local Party committees and authorities coordinate with neighboring districts to effectively carry out the search for victims.
