A local resident said   A driver encountered a problem at the Hanoi -Hai Phong expressway toll station. Toll booth staff allowed the driver to reverse and move to the ETC lane to resolve the issue. The driver is asking if this will result in a traffic fine? What are the types of traffic violations that can result in fines on expressways? What are the specific fine amounts?

Regarding the above matter, the Ministry of Public Security responds as follows:

- Clause 1, Article 67 of the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety (amended and supplemented by the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of 10 laws related to security and order in 2025) stipulates measures to detect violations of the law on road traffic order and safety, including the operation and use of a monitoring system to ensure road traffic security, order, and safety; camera systems on traffic routes and in urban areas; and technical equipment and systems for inspecting and controlling the weight of motor vehicles.

The processing of data collected using technical equipment and devices is carried out in accordance with the provisions of Article 15 of Government Decree No. 135/2021/ND-CP dated December 31, 2021, regulating the list, management, and use of technical equipment and devices and the process of collecting and using data obtained from technical equipment and devices provided by individuals and organizations to detect administrative violations (amended and supplemented by Government Decree No. 184/2025/ND-CP dated July 1, 2025, and to be replaced by Government Decree No. 61/2026/ND-CP dated February 13, 2026, regulating the list, management, and use of technical equipment and devices and the process of collecting and using data obtained from technical equipment and devices provided by individuals and organizations to detect administrative violations).
