The scented candle market is sparkling.

However, producing high-quality scented candles and securing a market requires significant time for research and experimentation in production and business.

Having been on the market since 2021, scented candles from JAROS Candle (Ward 5, Vinh Long City) have not only attracted consumer attention for their health-safe scented candles, but also for being a handcrafted candle brand "made in Vietnam".

Nguyen Hoan Le Vy, owner of JAROS Candle, shared: “Scented candles are not new in the international market, but they are quite new in the Vietnamese market. I believe that if this product is properly invested in and developed, it will have great potential for growth in the domestic market. Because Vietnamese brands always hold an important position in the hearts of Vietnamese people, this is also the reason why we always strive to research and produce quality products to meet the increasingly high demands of users.”

In the production of handcrafted scented candles, the most important factor is quality, because this is a type of product that can directly affect the health of users through its fragrance.

Le Vy stated: “Instead of using unsustainable ingredients that harm users' health, we researched a formula for producing wax that is safe for health, combining it with the use of beeswax sourced from Vinh Long, contributing to creating additional income for local workers. In addition, we meticulously select other materials such as candle containers, fragrances, cotton wicks, etc., from reputable suppliers with safety certifications.”

To increase brand recognition, Le Vy also actively promotes and markets its products on e-commerce platforms and social media, and participates in local trade promotion activities. At the same time, it regularly improves product designs, packaging, and quality to enhance brand awareness.

"This opens up opportunities for us to bring our brand closer to local customers, not only to understand market needs but also to find solutions to optimize raw material transportation costs and product prices," said Le Vy.

Diverse needs for using scented candles

Besides providing light, scented candles are also used as decorative items to make the home more cozy, create a relaxing atmosphere, repel insects, flies, and mosquitoes, or as gifts for friends and relatives.

Ms. My Chi, owner of a cosmetics and souvenir shop on Pham Thai Buong Street (Ward 4, Vinh Long City), said: "Scented candles can be used in many different spaces, adding aesthetic value to the living room and deodorizing the kitchen."

Furthermore, the demand for scented candles in yoga studios, spas, and offices has increased, leading to a more abundant supply of domestically produced handcrafted scented candles. Imported candles from the US, China, and other countries are also available, with prices starting from several hundred thousand dong and up.

As the owner of a skincare salon, Ms. Ta Thanh Tuyen (Hieu Nhon commune, Vung Liem district) shared: "My customers are mainly women, so I often use scented candles with a sweet orange scent. This not only provides a relaxing and comfortable feeling for customers but also helps reduce unpleasant odors in the surrounding environment."

Having just finished designing candle and flower gift sets for October 20th, Nguyen Hoan Le Vy is busy preparing materials and manpower for the peak season at the end of the year.

Currently, JAROS Candle offers collections with various scents such as lotus, jasmine, rose, white tea, lavender, forgiveness, the forest, lost in Dalat, etc., priced from 169,000 to 299,000 VND per jar. In addition to retail sales, JAROS Candle also accepts custom orders.

Besides their relaxing function, scented candles are also designed as unique decorative items.

As can be seen, scented products like scented candles are becoming increasingly popular. However, if not used correctly, excessive use of scented candles still poses some health risks.

Therefore, scented candles should not be used too frequently; when using scented candles, it is important to use them in open spaces, avoiding enclosed rooms; when burning candles, avoid placing them near flammable materials such as paper or fabric.
