Why did Dynamic Island fail?

First appearing on the iPhone 14 Pro in 2022, Dynamic Island generated considerable attention before its rollout across the entire iPhone 15 lineup last year. However, numerous expressions of disappointment have made the failure of this design increasingly apparent.

It's worth noting that this doesn't happen with Apple's native applications, leading many to believe it's not difficult to resolve.
