Apple has set the launch date for the next generation of iPhones for September 12th. The company always tries to keep information secret, but now many details about the product have leaked, helping users to decide whether to buy the newly released iPhone or choose a model already on the market. If you're considering buying the iPhone 14 series because you think it's the right time, you might want to reconsider.
According to leaked details so far, the standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will have a redesigned appearance as Apple returns to a rounded-edge design language, while also using the A16 Bionic chip with Dynamic Island, and a 48MP camera. All iPhone 15 series will use a USB-C charging and connection port, marking the end of the Lightning port on Apple smartphones.
Buying a new iPhone right now might not be the best decision.
Although they will most likely still use a 60Hz display, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are generally an upgrade from their predecessors and a significant change compared to the iPhone 13 or earlier models. This is an important reason for users to consider and wait for the new products at this time.
On the Pro side, both the 15 Pro and Pro Max feature larger batteries, thinner bezels, titanium edges, improved camera sensors, the A17 Bionic chip, and a quick-access button similar to the one on the Watch Ultra to launch certain pre-set app tasks. Furthermore, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is rumored to have a camera with 6x optical zoom, double that of the current iPhone 14 Pro Max. Overall, the cameras on the new iPhones will undoubtedly be significantly upgraded compared to their predecessors.
If you don't need to upgrade to the iPhone 15 series and prefer the iPhone 14 series, you should also consider waiting. Typically, Apple discontinues some older models when new devices are released, but keeps the regular models on the shelves and lowers their prices. Therefore, you could buy an iPhone 14 for $699, or the iPhone 13 would drop to the mid-range price point, similar to the iPhone SE 2022, at just $599.
That will actually happen in just two weeks: one week from now until the new iPhone is introduced and another week until the iPhone 15 series hits the shelves in the first markets where it's available. Waiting until the end of September could save consumers a considerable amount of money. This year, the iPhone 15 series is expected to go on sale in Vietnam about two weeks earlier than in previous years.
