Ly Hai starts production on the film 'Lat Mat 8'.

Director Ly Hai launched "Face Off 8," attracting over 5,000 auditionees, after the seventh installment grossed over 480 billion VND.

According to the director, the number of applicants for the two-day casting in Ho Chi Minh City (October 13-14) doubled by seven-tenths. Initially, he planned to hold the casting for just one day, but later had to extend it, ending at 1 AM the following day. Several colleagues assisted him in judging the roles, including director Quoc Thuan and actors Tiet Cuong, Trung Dung, and Ngoc Tuong.

Many famous faces come seeking opportunities here. In "Lật Mặt 8" (Face Off 8 ), actors like child actor Gia Khiêm, Lê Huỳnh Bảo Ngọc, and TikToker Lê Tuấn Khang were featured. The director said that some impressed him with their natural and unpretentious acting. Although they didn't meet the criteria for leading roles, he offered them suitable parts. Previously, during the online audition round (September 27th - October 7th), many of the contestants' acting videos attracted attention. The hashtag for the film's name garnered over 300 million views on TikTok.

Filming began in December in Phan Thiet ( Binh Thuan ) and Phan Rang - Thap Cham (Ninh Thuan). Ly Hai plans to release the film during the April 30th film season next year, similar to the release dates of the previous installments.
