Within the framework of the D-Joy Pickleball Tour 2025 stage 1 tournament, which brings together many bright domestic and international stars from Asia, Europe, Australia and the US, Ly Hoang Nam and Trinh Linh Giang are showing their top form in singles and doubles.

On May 17, at the D-Joy Nam Saigon court cluster in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, the two excellently defeated Asia's No. 1 duo, Harsh Mehta and Armaan Bhatia - strongly affirming the perseverance in practicing every day and the ability to break through at the decisive moment of the two leading pickleball players in Vietnam today.

Armaan Bhatia is considered the No. 2 seed at the D-Joy Pickleball Tour 2025 with a DUPR score of 6,379, holding many achievements when winning the men's singles, men's doubles (with Harsh Mehta), and mixed doubles (with Roos van Reek) at the PWR DUPR India Master in New Delhi (India).

Previously, the former tennis player who turned to pickleball also made a splash when he won the "Triple Crown" - 3 gold medals in all 3 categories of men's doubles, men's singles, and mixed doubles - at the World Pickleball Championship in Bali (Indonesia) in 2023. He is currently the most prominent face in the Indian and Asian pickleball community.

Meanwhile, Harsh Mehta from India is the No. 1 ranked men's doubles player in Asia, with a DUPR score of 6,105. He has a rich collection of titles including MLPA and PPA Australia titles, and the PWR DUPR India Masters Pickleball Championship 2024.

The spectacular victory of bravery

Returning to the match at D-Joy Nam Saigon Stadium, Asia's No. 1 pair Harsh Mehta and Armaan Bhatia showed their class right from the first points and led by 4 points with a score of 7-3.

In a second ball situation, Ly Hoang Nam and Trinh Linh Giang scored 5 points to equalize the score, then came back to reach set point, making the audience excited and nervous.

Not missing the opportunity and completely dominating the set, the two Vietnamese players finished set 1 with a score of 11-7. In the second set, Harsh Mehta - Armaan Bhatia had a strong response with a dramatic series of points, winning set 2 with a score of 11-3 to tie the final score at 1-1.

As the match progressed, the four players continuously heated up the field, receiving endless applause from the fans as they entered the third set. With perfect offense and defense at the net, Ly Hoang Nam and Trinh Linh Giang took a 7-0 lead.

With high morale, both did not give the number 1 Asian rival pair any chance to come back, calmly approaching match point with a gap of up to 9 points, before ending the 3rd set with a score of 11-3.

The duo Ly Hoang Nam - Trinh Linh Giang excellently sealed the 2-1 victory over the number 1 male doubles pair in Asia, as an affirmation of the class and persuasiveness of Vietnamese players in international pickleball tournaments.

It is expected that tomorrow, May 18, at D-Joy Nam Saigon Stadium, the duo Hoang Nam and Linh Giang will meet another Vietnamese athlete pair, Truong Vinh Hien - Do Minh Quan, in the semi-finals of the men's doubles event of D-Joy Pickleball Tour 2025.
