The locality has proactively combined resources, promoted socialization, mobilized police, military , cadres, and youth union members to take advantage of the weekend to support construction and transport materials. In particular, the goal is to complete 12 houses for people with meritorious services before July 27 - Mr. Hoang Bac Bang, Secretary of the Bac Kan Ward Party Committee, shared.
Gratitude through practical action
According to statistics from the Thai Nguyen Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, before July 1, 2025, all households with meritorious services in Thai Nguyen province (before the merger) had their temporary and dilapidated houses removed. Meanwhile, in Bac Kan province (old), there are still nearly 5,000 households in need of housing support, including 235 households with meritorious services and relatives of martyrs. After the merger, many houses in the new province have not been completed due to the impact of unfavorable weather and lack of resources.
Comrade Dinh Quang Tuyen, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Thai Nguyen Province: July 27 is the deadline for completing the demolition of temporary and dilapidated houses for families of meritorious people. For those still in difficulty, the province directs localities to directly support the construction of houses, while people coordinate and supervise some stages. This is not only a political task, but also a profound gift of gratitude for those who have contributed to the country.

Identifying this as a key political task, 37 newly established communes and wards of Thai Nguyen province have proactively planned and mobilized resources to support housing for the disadvantaged, especially families of meritorious people.
Despite difficulties caused by storms, lack of counterpart funds and high material prices, many localities still have flexible and creative ways of working, contributing to speeding up progress and spreading a sense of responsibility in the community.
In particular, immediately after the province issued a plan to assign tasks to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses, Regiment 750 (Thai Nguyen Provincial Military Command) urgently deployed the task with a high sense of responsibility.
Lieutenant Colonel Dam Viet Duc, Political Commissar of Regiment 750, said: The unit was assigned to support 9 policy families and poor households to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. The regiment mobilized more than 100 officers, professional soldiers and soldiers to directly participate in supporting labor days to build houses, transport materials and build houses. As a resistance fighter who was exposed to toxic chemicals, Mr. Hoang Ngoc Ky, in Na Lan village, Hiep Luc commune, lived in a dilapidated house for many years. This year, with 60 million VND in support from the State and the help of organizations and unions, his family has built a new, spacious and sturdy house. Not only from the state budget, the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for people with meritorious services also received active support from the business community and social organizations. In particular, the Thai Nguyen Association of Small and Medium Enterprises is an active unit in mobilizing and connecting to support difficult cases.
Mr. Pham Duc Thuan, Vice President of the Thai Nguyen Province Small and Medium Enterprises Association, said: Since the beginning of 2025, the Association has provided financial support to 30 families of meritorious people in the province. Currently, localities are focusing resources to support the elimination of temporary houses for people with meritorious services, striving to complete before July 27, as a deep gratitude on the occasion of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day. Each newly completed house not only contributes to stabilizing the lives of policy families, but also is a vivid proof that the tradition of "Drinking water, remembering its source" continues to be preserved and spread in the mountainous localities with many difficulties in the North of the province.
Despite many difficulties, with the determination of the government and the consensus of the people of Thai Nguyen province, new houses for families of meritorious people are gradually taking shape.
