According to The Athletic , the English center-back is among six players targeted for transfer by Man City. Along with the former Everton star, the list includes Nico O'Reilly, Mateo Kovacic, Ilkay Gundogan, Claudio Echeverri, and Oscar Bobb. However, Bobb's chances of leaving are quite low as he missed the entire previous season due to injury.
Last season, Stones only made 11 Premier League appearances due to struggling with leg and hamstring injuries. To prepare for the future, Man City signed Abdukodir Khusanov in January to gradually replace Stones.
The English star joined Man City in the summer of 2016 for a fee of £47.5 million. After 277 appearances, Stones scored 19 goals for the Etihad Stadium side and won numerous major and minor titles.
Man City are very active in the transfer market. The team has successfully signed new players such as Tijjani Reinders, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Rayan Cherki, for a total fee of over £150 million.
