According to him, Real Madrid currently lacks players like Fernando Hierro, Sergio Ramos, or Raúl González, who were iconic leaders of the club during various periods.

Mijatovic emphasized that the top scorer isn't always the leader. He cited the example of Zinedine Zidane, who was once the best player for the French national team, but the leader at that time was Didier Deschamps.

The former star also spoke out in defense of Kylian Mbappe. According to him, the French striker was brought in to score goals and is fulfilling that task. Meanwhile, Vinicius Junior still has great value, although he needs to improve his attitude.

“Mbappe came to score goals and he’s doing a good job of that. Vinicius has had many good seasons, often appearing in big games. But there are things about his attitude that I don’t like,” he commented.

Assessing Real Madrid's season, Mijatovic admitted it was a major failure for a club of the caliber of the Spanish giants.

"Two seasons without a trophy is always a serious matter for Real Madrid. This is the biggest club in the world . Not winning anything means failure," he added.
