Manchester United recently decided to sack manager Ruben Amorim after just 14 months. This premature dismissal means the Old Trafford club will have to pay the Portuguese coach £12 million (approximately 424 billion VND) in compensation.
This means Amorim becomes the seventh manager to be sacked by Man Utd since legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013. Previous managers sacked by the Red Devils include David Moyes, Louis van Gaal, José Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjær, and Erik ten Hag.

The latest dismissal notices have brought the total amount Man Utd has spent on sacked managers since Sir Alex Ferguson's era to £100 million (approximately 3.53 trillion VND), according to statistics from SunSport.
Despite paying huge compensation and spending a considerable amount on the transfer market, since then, the Old Trafford team has only won a few minor titles, failing to win the Premier League or the Champions League. This has angered "Red Devils" fans immensely, who have repeatedly publicly criticized the club's owners.
Returning to manager Ruben Amorim, there are reports that just three days before receiving his dismissal notice, he had considered resigning. The Portuguese coach was extremely frustrated after a heated argument with Director of Football Jason Wilcox before Manchester United's match against Leeds at Elland Road.
However, Amorim changed his mind after speaking with his agent, Raul Costa. The agent emphasized, "Manchester United's management should either continue to support him or directly dismiss him and compensate him."
In fact, if he resigns voluntarily, the former Sporting Lisbon coach will leave Man Utd without receiving any compensation.
Manchester United have appointed Michael Carrick as interim manager to replace Amorim. Carrick's first match will be the Manchester derby against rivals Manchester City at 7:30 PM on January 17th ( Hanoi time) in the 22nd round of the Premier League.
Confidence at Old Trafford is currently low following two disappointing results under interim manager Darren Fletcher. Man Utd only managed a 2-2 draw against Burnley, a team battling relegation. Following that, the Red Devils lost 1-2 at home to Brighton in the FA Cup.
Coach Carrick took over the team when Man Utd were sitting 7th in the Premier League table and had already been eliminated from both domestic cup competitions, the FA Cup and the League Cup.

Interim manager Michael Carrick will lead the "Red Devils" until the end of this season, which includes 17 Premier League matches.
