The heroic verses were recited, making the atmosphere of the cultural and sports exchange organized by the Can Tho City Retirement Club even more profound and proud. And the person who contributed to conveying emotions to everyone was artist Nguyen Thi Hong Nhan, member of the Can Tho City Writers Association.

Artist Hong Nhan recites poetry at the cultural exchange session recently organized by the Can Tho City Retirement Club.

Artist Hong Nhan (born in 1958, residing in Tan An ward, Ninh Kieu district) is a familiar face in Nguyen Tieu poetry nights, performance programs, and cultural exchanges in Can Tho city. She not only recites poetry well but also has a sweet singing voice.

Originally from Thanh Oai, Hanoi , Ms. Hong Nhan followed her husband to Can Tho in 1987. Her husband worked in the police force, she worked in the living and logistics department of the unit. In addition to work, she loves the arts and has a talent for singing and reciting poetry, so she actively participates in cultural and artistic activities in the unit and the locality. From the Ninh Kieu Poetry Club, the Duong Poetry Club, to the Poetry Club of the Can Tho City Writers Association... she is a member, specializing in reciting poetry. With the advantage of a sweet, expressive reciting voice and a spirit of hard work, self-study, learning, and practicing, Ms. Hong Nhan has improved more and more, becoming more and more loved. She often recites famous poems about her homeland, country, the Party, Uncle Ho... In addition to serving in exchange programs and major events, she is also trusted by many authors and poets, thanks to her recitation of her newly composed works or being invited to perform in exchange programs with students... In particular, for many years, she has been one of the poetry reciters invited to perform in the Nguyen Tieu poetry night of Can Tho City and neighboring provinces and cities... Ms. Nhan shared: "Because of my love, I self-studied and practiced reciting poetry without going to formal school. Every time I perform, I not only immerse myself in the emotions of the poem and the author, but also because of my own emotions. Beautiful and meaningful poems make my soul flutter with emotion and when reciting, I wish to contribute to spreading the beauty of poetry to the audience".

Ms. Nhan also participated in the Traditional Revolutionary Music Singing Club of the Can Tho City Retirement Club for about 15 years, contributing to hundreds of performances in many exchange activities, competitions, and performances.

Besides, she has been practicing physical exercises since 1999 until now, from being in charge of the Physical Exercise Club of An Lac Ward (old) to gradually becoming Vice President of the Physical Exercise Association of Ninh Kieu District, then Vice President of the Physical Exercise Association of Can Tho City. She is currently in charge of the Physical Exercise Team of the city. Whether it is sports or literature, poetry, in any field, she has achieved many achievements and high awards in competitions and performances.

Active and socially active, Ms. Nhan still ensures to take care of her family, raise her children, and build a complete home. Her two daughters work in the police force, have their own families, and have stable lives. Ms. Hong Nhan confided: “There were times when the family economy was very difficult, I had to raise pigs, chickens, ducks, and grow vegetables to increase income. My husband and I were united, encouraging each other to overcome to build happiness, and to raise our children to study properly. In recent years, my family life has been fulfilling, and I have more time for arts and sports.”

Ms. Nhan added that the secret to having a happy family and a successful career is, in addition to constant efforts and striving, happiness, optimism, as well as the care and understanding of family members.
