Nhuan Trach tapioca starch is ground and filtered.
With the dream of building a typical product with the hometown brand and solving the output problem for people when increasing acreage and output, in 2022, Mr. Hoang Trong Thu and 8 other members who grow cassava in the village together established the Nhuan Trach Agricultural Service and Starch Processing Cooperative.
With that philosophy, to create quality cassava flour products, first of all, Mr. Thu and the members of the Cooperative built a raw material area of over 8 hectares grown using organic methods. The Cooperative invested in a system of continuous grinding machines, dryers, and built a closed production process. The stages from selecting tubers, washing, grinding, filtering, settling, drying to packaging are all carefully carried out, meeting food safety standards.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Vinh, a member of the cooperative, said: The raw materials are carefully selected from fresh and delicious cassava tubers, then washed, crushed, filtered, and left to settle for a week to remove all resin and impurities. Next, the starch is taken out and placed on a tray, dehumidified, and put in a dryer for 48 hours at 65°C. When finished drying, it is broken into pieces, not crumbly like regular powders. About 6kg of fresh cassava tubers can be processed into 1kg of dry cassava starch.

Thanks to the application of advanced machinery and compliance with safe production processes, Nhuan Trach tapioca starch has a pure white color, large petals, dry and crispy, with a characteristic aroma. The product can be mixed with water to drink directly, marinated with grapefruit flowers or used to make cakes, soups, sweet soups, etc. When cooked, tapioca starch has a milky white color, is fragrant, sticky and cool, and melts on the tip of the tongue when enjoyed. With its cool properties and many nutrients, in addition to its effect of cooling the body, tapioca starch is also known to support beauty and treat some diseases.
Muong tapioca flour conquers consumers thanks to its delicious taste, rich nutrition and safe, transparent origin. This is a factor that consumers are increasingly interested in when the market has recently had fake functional foods discovered by the authorities.
Combining tradition with modernity, in 2023, Nhuan Trach tapioca starch product was recognized as meeting 3-star OCOP standards. In 2024, it was recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as a typical rural industrial product. |
Every year, the Cooperative harvests and purchases about 300 tons of fresh cassava tubers at a price of about 15,000 VND/kg, contributing to stabilizing the output for farmers in the region. From there, the Cooperative produces 5-6 tons of cassava starch, supplying the market inside and outside the province at a price of about 200,000 VND/kg; if packaged in a beautiful box as a gift, the price is from 250,000 - 300,000 VND/kg.

The Cooperative is gradually improving its designs and perfecting its production process; at the same time, expanding its consumption channels and promoting its products on e-commerce platforms, social networks and fairs. Recently, the Cooperative's cassava flour products were selected by Phu Tho province to participate in the first Autumn Fair - 2025 at the National Exhibition Center ( Hanoi ), contributing to promoting the typical agricultural products of the homeland.
Mr. Hoang Trong Thu shared: “We hope that each package of cassava flour from the Cooperative is not only a consumer product, but also the crystallization of the efforts and pride of the Muong people here. Preserving the profession, ensuring quality and expanding the market are the ways to spread the value of our homeland cassava.”
From real raw materials, real quality, Nhuan Trach tapioca starch is not only a gift for health, but also a testament to creativity and acumen in linking rural economic development and the aspiration to build a brand for Muong agricultural products.
