Moc Chau Red Flag Tea Joint Stock Company is one of the tea processing units in Son La with specialty tea lines, tea bags, green tea powder, green tea essential oil, tea extract products... Grasping beverage trends, in 2024, the Company will develop a group of ready-to-drink tea products, including: Milk Black Tea, Milk Oolong, Milk Matcha and Milk Jasmine Green Tea.
Mr. Tran Manh Hoa, Permanent Deputy General Director of the Company, shared: Milk Matcha is developed from tea growing areas using the shading method 20 days before harvest, this is a technique that helps increase chlorophyll content, reduce astringency, and enhance the characteristic umami flavor. Tea buds are harvested by hand or specialized machines, and quickly transported to the factory to limit oxidation, ensuring freshness and quality. Milk Matcha is a product that is very popular with young people. The light, sweet flavor, combined with the richness of milk, creates a pleasant feeling, brings alertness, and is good for health thanks to its high antioxidant content.

To create standard matcha powder, tea leaves are steamed for a few dozen seconds to prevent oxidation, preserving the green color and natural aroma. Then, the leaves are cooled, dried, the veins and stems are removed, keeping only the leaf flesh (called Tencha), the raw material to produce matcha.
Tencha is ground with a granite mortar or low-speed mill to avoid heat generation, producing a super fine matcha powder of 10-15 microns. The finished product after grinding is checked for color, moisture, smell, impurities and vacuum packed. From this matcha powder, the Company continues to mix and standardize the formula of tea base, milk, sugar to create a milk matcha product suitable for consumer tastes.
According to Mr. Tran Manh Hoa: The matcha beverage market is growing rapidly, especially among young people with trends such as matcha latte, matcha cold whisk, "green - low sugar - beautiful virtual life" drinks. The raw materials are taken from the Ta Loong tea region, Thao Nguyen ward, with a Taiwanese technology production line, capacity of 2 tons/year. Although the product is new, the consumption market is mainly domestic, but has received many positive signals, which is a premise for businesses to boldly bring the product to the market at the end of 2024.

Matcha milk of Moc Chau Red Flag Tea Joint Stock Company is a national specialty product of Son La province in 2025.
To promote and introduce the products, in 2025, the Company registered 4 products to participate in the vote for the CNNTTB products of Son La province, in which Matcha milk was awarded the Certificate of CNNTTB products at the provincial level by the Provincial People's Committee. The product is packed in PE bags with a weight of 20g/package, 10 packages/box. Currently, a box of 200g milk matcha costs 129,000 VND/box.
Ms. Luu Thi Thu Hien, Deputy Head of the Department of Industrial Promotion and Development, member of the Jury, commented: The company's entry was carefully invested, demonstrating full quality standards, especially in food safety. The packaging and labeling were significantly improved, demonstrating professionalism. The technology content in the product increased significantly. The Matcha milk product fully met the requirements and was highly appreciated by the Council.
The company is currently applying the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system and the HACCP CODE 2023 food safety management system, contributing to enhancing the trust of consumers and distribution partners. Not only achieving typical certification, the product also receives good feedback from users.
