The PRC-25 radio was a high-performance transceiver, a common piece of equipment used by the enemy in their offensive operations. From 1972 to 1975, this radio contributed significantly to the successful completion of many important tasks by the officers and soldiers of the H67 Intelligence Group, such as: gathering intelligence and timings on numerous US-puppet military operations, enabling our units to proactively launch attacks and achieve victories; ensuring the smooth and safe protection of key information receiving points, and facilitating the transportation of revolutionary cadres. A prime example is the incident on April 6, 1972, when Comrade Tran Minh Tam, an officer of the H67 Intelligence Group, using the PRC-25 radio, accurately detected the time and direction of movement of an enemy unit conducting a sweep operation into the area where the Group was stationed in Ben Tre. This allowed the Group's commander to develop a battle plan, plant improvised mines, and ambush the enemy. With only 22 officers and soldiers, in this battle, the unit eliminated more than 100 enemy soldiers, wounded many others, seized numerous weapons, guns, and ammunition, and crushed their sweeping operation... During the Spring 1975 General Offensive and Uprising, under the direction of the Regional Intelligence Department, and directly under the command of Intelligence Unit H67, the entire unit prepared the battlefield well to serve our troops in liberating the town and the entire province of Phuoc Long. At the same time, they devised a diversionary plan, dividing their forces into many columns, forcing the puppet troops in many outposts and military zones to lay down their weapons and surrender unconditionally... With these exceptionally outstanding achievements, on June 3, 1976, Intelligence Unit H67 was honored by the Party and the State with the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces.
