This move comes after Mbappe's legal team announced in April that they would take legal action against PSG. The French star claims the club owes him €55 million (approximately $61 million) in unpaid wages. Mbappe also expressed dissatisfaction with how the club treated him during his final season.

After refusing to extend his contract, the 2018 World Cup winner was sidelined for much of PSG's 2023-24 campaign and was booed during his final match at the Parc des Princes.

According to the prosecutor's office, the 26-year-old player is alleging that he was "kicked out" of Paris Saint-Germain. In France, the term "kicked out" refers to isolating a player from the team due to administrative or disciplinary issues.

Mbappe joined PSG from Monaco in 2017 and has helped the club win seven Ligue 1 titles. He also reached the 2020 Champions League final with PSG but lost to Bayern Munich. In total, Mbappe has scored 256 goals in 308 appearances for the Parisian club.

In 2022, PSG offered Mbappe a three-year contract worth €630 million (approximately $681 million), considered the most lucrative deal in the club's history. However, according to AP , Mbappe was reportedly disappointed after the promise to sign key players to play alongside him was not fulfilled. Despite PSG having Neymar, Lionel Messi, and Sergio Ramos to support Mbappe from 2021 to 2023, the team still failed to achieve the desired success in European competitions.

In June 2023, Mbappe informed PSG that he would not exercise his contract extension option and would join Real Madrid on a free transfer. Mbappe's departure was not smooth, as he was excluded from PSG's pre-season tours of Japan and South Korea and had to train separately from the first team. He also missed the opening game of that season, but eventually returned to the pitch despite apparent tension with the club.

In his first season with Real Madrid, Mbappe scored 35 goals and provided three assists in his five-year contract. Meanwhile, PSG won the Champions League after beating Inter 5-0 in May. Mbappe insisted he felt "no bitterness" about PSG winning the title after he left.
