In the early hours of May 8th, Mbappe scored the opening goal to help PSG win 3-1 against Troyes in the 34th round of Ligue 1.

Against an opponent sitting second-to-last in the league table, PSG easily controlled the game despite the absence of Lionel Messi. The visitors didn't attack relentlessly but still scored at the beginning of each half.

In the 8th minute, Kylian Mbappe opened the scoring. Warren Zaire-Emery's cross hit the crossbar and landed perfectly for Mbappe to head home from close range, giving PSG the lead. Last week, Mbappe also scored a lucky goal after a silly mistake by the Lorient goalkeeper.

With his header against Troyes, Mbappe leveled the score with Alexandre Lacazette in the Ligue 1 top scorer race, both with 24 goals.

In the second half, PSG played at a slower pace and doubled their lead, again after a lucky moment in the 59th minute. From a long pass by Marco Verratti, Vitinha broke through to face the goalkeeper. The Portuguese midfielder's header was saved by the goalkeeper, but the ball bounced off him and into the net.

Conversely, Troyes, despite being considered the underdog, put in a commendable performance against the league leaders. In the final minutes of the first half, goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma had to use all his skill to save the visitors from dangerous shots by Ike Ugbo and Mama Balde.

The drama intensified in the final minutes of the match. Troyes unexpectedly pulled one back with a close-range header from Xavier Chavalerin in the 83rd minute. Just three minutes later, PSG sealed the 3-1 victory with a decisive shot from Fabian Ruiz that found the back of the net.

The three points away from home helped PSG re-establish a six-point lead over Lens in the title race, with only four rounds remaining in the season.
