In the eighth minute, Messi initiated an attack down the right wing, then passed to De Paul. Despite being under pressure, Inter Miami didn't have many opportunities to counter-attack. However, they unexpectedly took the lead 2-1 in the 71st minute.

Messi dribbled the ball in midfield and then played a through pass to Rodrigo De Paul, who broke the offside trap, raced down the wing, and fired a diagonal shot past the opposing goalkeeper.

After the second goal, Inter Miami deliberately slowed down the pace of the game. Messi and his teammates also tried to make things difficult for their opponents by controlling the ball, pressing, and narrowing the attacking space.

Vancouver pressed forward but failed to create as many chances as before. In the 90+6th minute, Inter Miami sealed a 3-1 victory when Messi provided his second assist, setting up Allende to finish past goalkeeper Takaoka.

This result helped Inter Miami win their first MLS championship in history, and also secure their third title after the 2023 Leagues Cup and the 2024 Supporter's Shield.

Messi and Inter Miami have won their second title in just one week. On November 30th, Messi and his teammates won the Eastern Conference championship.

For Messi personally, this is his third official title with Inter Miami. In total, Messi has won the trophy 48 times, the most in history, far surpassing his former teammate Dani Alves with 43 trophies.
