Heavy rain still occurs from the North to Nghe An

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, today (June 26), moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in the Northeast, Son La, Hoa Binh , Thanh Hoa, and Nghe An, with localized very heavy rain; rainfall will decrease in the Northwest.

The total rainfall in this area from 1:00 AM on June 26th to 24 hours later was 30-70mm, with some places exceeding 100mm; in the following 24 hours, it decreased to 20-40mm, with some places exceeding 60mm.

Additionally, today, the areas of Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Lao Cai, Yen Bai , and Ha Giang will experience scattered showers and thunderstorms, with localized moderate to heavy rainfall of 20-40mm, and in some places over 60mm (thunderstorms will mainly occur in the late afternoon and evening).

From tomorrow (June 27th), the weather in the North will still have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with localized moderate to heavy rain in the late afternoon and evening; sunny days will return; from June 29th, some areas will experience hot weather.

For the weather in the area from Ha Tinh to Binh Thuan , the Central Highlands and Southern Vietnam today, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, with localized moderate to heavy rain with rainfall amounts of 15-30mm, and in some places over 60mm (thunderstorms will mainly occur in the late afternoon and evening).

Heavy rains pose a risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas, and flooding in low-lying areas; be prepared for heavy rainfall in a short period of time causing flooding in urban areas. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.

Today, the hot weather in Central Vietnam is gradually receding, only occurring in the area from Quang Binh to Phu Yen with a maximum temperature of 35 degrees Celsius.
