According to the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting, the heatwave in Northern Vietnam ends today (June 23).

The area from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen continues to experience hot weather, with some places experiencing exceptionally intense heat, with maximum temperatures of 35-38 degrees Celsius, and some places exceeding 39 degrees Celsius; the lowest relative humidity is 40-55%.

On June 24th, the heatwave in Central Vietnam gradually subsided, remaining in the area from Nghe An to Phu Yen with temperatures of 35-37 degrees Celsius, and even exceeding 38 degrees Celsius in some places. By June 25th, the heatwave in this region is expected to continue to decrease.

Today, the heatwave in Northern Vietnam ended with thunderstorms, with mountainous areas even experiencing very heavy rainfall of 20-40mm, and in some places over 70mm.

Notably, from this evening until tomorrow, moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms will begin in Northern Vietnam and Thanh Hoa, with some areas experiencing very heavy rain, with rainfall amounts of 40-100mm, and in some places over 120mm.

From tomorrow night until the night of June 25th, this area will continue to experience rain with amounts of 60-100mm, and in some places over 150mm. From June 26th, heavy rain in Northern Vietnam and Thanh Hoa province will tend to gradually decrease.

The meteorological agency notes that heavy rain poses a risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas, and flooding in low-lying areas; and that intense rainfall over a short period may cause flooding in urban areas. Thunderstorms may bring tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.

Additionally, the Central Highlands and Southern regions will continue to experience sunny days , with the possibility of thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening.

Northwestern region

Cloudy, with scattered showers and thunderstorms during the day, locally heavy rain; moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms in the evening and night, locally very heavy rain. Light winds. There is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms.

Lowest temperature: 22-25 degrees Celsius; in some places below 22 degrees Celsius. Highest temperature: 30-33 degrees Celsius, except for Lai Chau and Dien Bien where it will be 27-30 degrees Celsius.

Northeastern Vietnam

Cloudy, with scattered showers and thunderstorms during the day, locally heavy to very heavy rain, especially in the plains where there will be showers and thunderstorms in some areas; moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms in the evening and night, locally very heavy rain. South wind at level 2-3. There is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms.

Lowest temperature: 23-26 degrees Celsius, in mountainous areas below 22 degrees Celsius. Highest temperature: 30-33 degrees Celsius, in some places above 33 degrees Celsius.

Thanh Hoa - Thua Thien Hue

Cloudy skies, hot and intensely hot days, exceptionally hot in some areas; scattered showers and thunderstorms in the evening and at night. Southwesterly winds of force 2-3. There is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms.

Lowest temperature: 27-30 degrees. Highest temperature: 36-38 degrees, with some areas exceeding 39 degrees.

Da Nang to Binh Thuan

Cloudy, sunny days, with some areas experiencing hot weather, especially in the North where it will be hot and intensely hot; scattered showers and thunderstorms in the evening and at night. Southwesterly winds at 2-3 Beaufort. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.

Lowest temperature: 25-28 degrees Celsius. Highest temperature: North 35-38 degrees Celsius, some places above 38 degrees Celsius; South 32-35 degrees Celsius.

Central Highlands

Cloudy, sunny during the day, with scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening. Southwesterly winds of force 2-3. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.

Lowest temperature: 21-24 degrees. Highest temperature: 29-32 degrees, with some areas exceeding 32 degrees.

Southern Vietnam

Lowest temperature: 25-28 degrees. Highest temperature: 32-35 degrees.

Hanoi

Cloudy, with showers and thunderstorms during the day, moderate to thunderstorms in the evening and night, with locally heavy rain. South wind at 2-3 Beaufort. There is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms.

Lowest temperature: 24-26 degrees. Highest temperature: 31-33 degrees.
