According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, last night and early morning of June 20th, scattered showers and thunderstorms occurred in the mountainous areas of Northern Vietnam, the southern part of the Central Highlands, and Southern Vietnam, with some areas experiencing heavy rain. Rainfall amounts from 7 PM on June 19th to 3 AM on June 20th at some stations exceeded 60 mm, such as Dong Tam (Tuyen Quang) 117.2 mm; Buon Tria 2 ( Dak Lak ) 89.6 mm; and Krong No (Lam Dong) 61.4 mm.

Forecasts indicate that on June 20th, both day and night, the mountainous areas of Northern Vietnam will experience scattered showers and thunderstorms, with rainfall generally ranging from 10-30 mm, and locally exceeding 90 mm. The Central and Southern highlands will also experience scattered showers and thunderstorms, with rainfall ranging from 10-30 mm, and locally exceeding 70 mm; the rain will be concentrated in the late afternoon and evening.

During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind. The level of natural disaster risk due to tornadoes, lightning, and hail is level 1.

The meteorological agency warns that the heatwave in the area from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang City and the eastern provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak is likely to continue for several more days. From around June 22nd to 23rd, a widespread heatwave is likely to occur in the North. The level of natural disaster risk due to the heatwave is at level 1.
