When will the rain end in Northern Vietnam?

(PLVN) - According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, around May 14-16, the Northern region will experience localized showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the late afternoon and evening.

The cold air mass has affected the Northern region and most of the North Central region. In the Gulf of Tonkin, there have been northeasterly winds of force 7, gusting to force 8.

The Meteorological and Hydrological Agency forecasts that on the afternoon and night of May 11th, the cold air mass will continue to affect other areas in North Central Vietnam and some areas in Central Vietnam. Inland areas will experience northeasterly winds of force 2-3; coastal areas will experience winds of force 3-4, gusting to force 6.

The weather in Northern Vietnam and North Central Vietnam will be cool, with some mountainous areas in Northern Vietnam experiencing cold temperatures. The lowest temperatures during this cold spell in Northern Vietnam and North Central Vietnam will generally be around 20-23 degrees Celsius, with some high mountainous areas in Northern Vietnam experiencing temperatures below 19 degrees Celsius.

In the Hanoi area, there will be occasional rain and cool weather. The lowest temperature during this cold spell will generally be around 21-23 degrees Celsius.

On May 11th, moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms occurred in the area from Ha Tinh to Quang Nam, with very heavy rain in some places. The rain gradually decreased during the night.

The area from Da Nang to Binh Thuan will experience scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening of May 12-13, with some areas experiencing heavy rain; from May 14 onwards, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms at night, with sunny days.

In the Central Highlands and Southern Vietnam, there will be rain, moderate rain, and scattered thunderstorms on the night of May 12-13, with heavy rain in some areas. From May 14 onwards, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places, with scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening.

At sea, on May 11th, the Gulf of Tonkin experienced northeasterly winds of force 5, sometimes force 6, gusting to force 7, with rough seas and waves 1.5-2.5m high. The wind gradually decreased from night onwards.

In the northern part of the South China Sea, strong northeasterly winds of force 6, gusting to force 7-8, will cause rough seas with waves 2-3 meters high. The wind will gradually decrease at night.
