Currently, Dong Nai city is prioritizing the completion of strategic infrastructure, especially projects related to Long Thanh Airport, expressways, ring roads, inter-regional connecting axes, and dynamic urban systems. This is a crucial foundation for building a strong infrastructure to open up new development opportunities and contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of businesses.
Speaking at the "Accompanying the Sea to Embrace New Opportunities" Forum recently held at Phuoc An Port, Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung, Standing Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Logistics Association, stated that Dong Nai is promoting the formation of a logistics ecosystem and creating optimization in the logistics chain. Logistics is likened to the bloodstream of the economy ; therefore, for this bloodstream to flow smoothly, we must first address the infrastructure for logistics development. Dong Nai City and Ho Chi Minh City need to remove bottlenecks and accelerate administrative procedure reforms.
Regarding the customs sector, according to Mr. Hung, the customs agency in Dong Nai has consistently been at the forefront of administrative procedure reform and technological innovation, meeting the needs of businesses in customs clearance. This forms the initial foundation for supporting import and export businesses in facilitating customs clearance and creating an environment for efficient business operations.
Partnering with businesses
Regarding customs clearance issues, the Head of the Customs Sub-Department of Region XVIII (HQKV 18), Le Van Thung, stated: In recent times, besides the city's efforts, the people and the business community have been a crucial link in the development process. HQKV 18 is currently responsible for managing customs operations throughout the city, with 10 customs units inside and outside the border gates. Among these are three border customs points: Hoang Dieu, Hoa Lu, and Loc Thinh border gates, overseeing trade activities between Vietnam in general and Dong Nai in particular, passing through these border gates to Cambodia.
In the context of increasingly developing and growing businesses, the customs agency's workforce has not increased. To meet the new situation, the customs sector must improve administrative procedures, innovate management methods, and automate the handling of all goods procedures for businesses.
In the coming period, the customs sector will continue to develop a software system for better management, creating favorable conditions for businesses engaged in import and export activities nationwide, especially in Dong Nai City. Customs Region 18 will be a leading unit in administrative procedure reform, as well as the application of digital technology , and creating all favorable conditions for businesses. The Head of Customs Region 18 affirmed that the customs sector always accompanies, listens to, and shares the difficulties of businesses. Based on understanding the obstacles, difficulties, and issues related to the sector's internal affairs, Customs Region 18 will directly handle them. For issues related to ministries, sectors, or the city, the customs sector will compile and send them to the competent authorities for resolution.
The Dong Nai Customs Department currently manages over 6,000 foreign-invested enterprises and other import-export businesses. Annually, Customs Region 18 records a growth rate of approximately 10-15% for these enterprises, indicating a very strong demand for customs clearance.
Customs Office 18 wishes to reach out to and meet with businesses, attracting businesses operating in industrial zones in Dong Nai to register for customs procedures in Dong Nai. This is because Dong Nai city currently has enormous development potential. Mr. Le Van Thung committed to regularly communicating with businesses through various channels to listen to and promptly resolve difficulties and obstacles, creating the best conditions for smooth import and export activities. In the future, when Long Thanh Airport becomes operational, the transportation infrastructure ecosystem in Dong Nai will have all five modes of transport. At that time, services will be fully available, and Customs Office 18 will always accompany and work with businesses to leverage advantages and promote the development of Dong Nai city in the future.
