| The Thai Nguyen running community has been active for over 10 years with nearly 200 members. |
In recent years, the "One Sport for Every Citizen" movement has been spreading strongly throughout the province.
More and more people are maintaining a habit of regular exercise and sports, choosing activities that suit their age, conditions, and preferences, such as football, badminton, swimming, yoga, pickleball, or running. Sports have become not only a way to improve health but also an essential need in mental well-being, contributing to building a positive lifestyle and strengthening community bonds.
According to Mr. Doan Van Cong, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen Province: The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is continuing to promote mass sports movements, creating conditions for people to easily access and maintain training activities suitable for each age group and target audience. We prioritize the goal of improving the physical health and quality of life of the people, focusing on developing a widespread mass sports movement.
Thai Nguyen aims to have 75% of its population participate in regular physical exercise and sports by 2026. This will not only improve public health but also contribute to building a high-quality workforce to meet the development requirements of the new era.
From individuals who love sports, numerous community sports and fitness clubs have been formed and developed widely throughout the province.
Currently, Thai Nguyen has nearly 2,000 active sports and fitness clubs, attracting a large number of participants.
Clubs not only create a healthy environment for recreation but also contribute to community cohesion and the development of cultural life at the grassroots level.
Many amateur tournaments and exchange activities are organized regularly, creating a vibrant atmosphere of healthy competition among the people.
According to Master Trinh Duc Sung, Head of the Duc Sung Martial Arts Club: Practicing sports, especially martial arts, not only improves physical fitness but also cultivates willpower, discipline, and self-confidence in life. Every citizen should choose a suitable sport to practice regularly, because health is the foundation for learning, working, and contributing to society.
Tran Gia Bao, a resident of Tan Thanh neighborhood, Linh Son ward, who has been involved in running for many years, shared: "Maintaining exercise helps me improve my health and feel more relaxed in my work and life. When I learned about the 'One sport for every citizen' movement, I hoped even more young people would participate. Because only when the people are healthy can the country develop."
When sports become a part of daily life, each citizen not only invests in their own health but also contributes to building a healthy, civilized, and positive living environment.
More crowded sports fields, busier running routes, and more frequently organized social activities and competitions have been fostering connections between generations, strengthening community bonds, and cultivating a spirit of solidarity within the local community.
The message "Every citizen should choose at least one suitable sport to practice regularly" is no longer just a call to action, but is gradually becoming concrete actions, habits, and a way of life for a large number of people.
From children and teenagers to the elderly; from urban areas to rural and mountainous regions, more and more people are finding joy, excitement, and positive motivation in life through physical activities and sports.
With the achievements already made and the joint efforts of all levels, sectors, and the entire society, the mass physical education and sports movement in Thai Nguyen will continue to spread strongly, becoming a positive energy contributing to building a more civilized, prosperous, and sustainably developed homeland.
