Although the scale of each event varies, they all share a common desire among associations, groups, individuals, and organizations to help people in difficult circumstances, guided by the motto: working together for the poor, ensuring no one is left behind.
Help people according to your ability.
Once a week, members of the Provincial Charity Association organize a humanitarian activity to help the community.
According to Nguyen Phu Cuong, Chairman of the Provincial Charity Association, some activities only involve donating meals to self-employed workers with modest budgets, while other humanitarian programs are carried out by the organization with a value of hundreds of millions of dong. For example, on April 17th, the organization donated 150 gift packages, each worth 640,000 dong, to residents of Ma Da commune (Vinh Cuu district).
Previously, on April 14th, the Provincial Charity Association donated 200 meals to inpatients and self-employed workers. The association and benefactors hoped to help alleviate some of the difficulties people face in their lives.
Between April 15th and 18th alone, the Provincial Red Cross Society organized 8 humanitarian programs with a total value of over 220 million VND to provide wheelchairs for 50 disabled people, give gifts to 50 blind people, and support gifts for 57 child patients receiving inpatient treatment…
Similarly, on average, the Provincial Red Cross Society organizes 5 humanitarian activities per week. The district-level Red Cross societies, in particular, carry out one humanitarian program each day to achieve the goals of the 2025 Humanitarian Month (from March 1st to May 31st); Red Cross societies at all levels in the province are expected to raise at least 15 billion VND to assist over 60,000 humanitarian beneficiaries.
Mr. Le Thanh Cong (a disabled person residing in Trang Dai ward, Bien Hoa city) said that he and other disabled people felt very happy to receive new wheelchairs. These are not only means of transportation, but also a "means of livelihood" that allows disabled people to sell lottery tickets daily and travel to their workplaces.
At this time, religious organizations and places of worship also carried out many activities to help those in need. Among them, the Management Board of That Phu Ancient Temple in Bien Hoa (Hiep Hoa ward, Bien Hoa city) and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province donated 200 gift packages (including 4 tons of rice and 200 boxes of instant noodles) to people in difficult circumstances in Phuoc Tan ward.
Meanwhile, Phuoc Quang Zen Monastery (in Phuoc Thai commune, Long Thanh district) has raised over 110 million VND to support poor people and ethnic minorities in Dinh Quan and Vinh Cuu districts.
Connecting the power of community
According to Mai Van Nho, Chairman of the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in the province, in the first three months of 2025, the total value of assistance activities for Agent Orange victims carried out by the associations at all levels in the province reached over 6.8 billion VND. This result exceeds the plan set for the whole year of 2025 by 1.3 billion VND.

According to Mr. Mai Van Nho, the unit is currently awaiting the merger decision as per regulations. However, this does not mean that the association's employees are neglecting their work in mobilizing, receiving, and distributing resources to victims of Agent Orange. Currently, the Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims Association at all levels in the province is accelerating the survey of families of Agent Orange victims who genuinely need capital support for economic development. After obtaining specific data, the association will proceed with providing non-refundable capital from community contributions.
Similarly, Red Cross societies at all levels in the province are also among the units preparing for merger. In the remaining time before the official decision is made, Red Cross societies at all levels are accelerating the mobilization and allocation of resources to assist the community during the 2025 Humanitarian Month.
According to Do Thi Tuyet Hong, Chairwoman of the Vinh Cuu District Red Cross Society, mobilizing resources has been very difficult recently due to the overall economic downturn. However, Red Cross branches at all levels in the district are still striving to connect even the smallest resources to create a powerful humanitarian organization, such as: donating gifts to people in difficult circumstances, supporting free eye surgeries, and cooking and distributing free meals for patients in hospitals as well as struggling freelance workers.
According to Venerable Thich Nguyen Thong, Deputy Head of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association in Long Thanh District, based on information about difficult cases needing assistance provided by the Red Cross at all levels and local authorities, the temple has been mobilizing other temples and Buddhists to contribute to helping the poor. Though the contributions may be small, they are substantial, so everyone is joining hands to help deliver portions of rice and boxes of instant noodles to those in need.
