Youth from Quang Dien district visited and shared the difficulties faced by people struggling with housing.

"Leaving no one behind"

Understanding the housing difficulties faced by Ms. Ngo Thi Nga, residing in Con Hen, the Party Committee and the government of Vy Da ward have allocated a portion of their budget and proposed to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thuan Hoa district to provide 20 million VND to repair Ms. Nga's house.

“Living in a dilapidated house in a low-lying, flood-prone area… now that the local government has repaired our house, I am very happy. Not only that, my family also received essential daily necessities from the local authorities,” Ms. Nga shared.

Ms. Ngo Thi Nga is one of eight households receiving financial assistance for house repairs from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thuan Hoa District and Vy Da Ward in the first phase of 2025. "We are striving to ensure that by June 2025, no household in the ward will have to live in dilapidated, temporary houses," said Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy, Secretary of the Party Committee of Vy Da Ward.

After a period of construction, the house of Ms. Dang Thi Xuan, residing in Quang An commune, Quang Dien district, is gradually taking shape, bringing joy to her family and neighbors. Mr. Phan Canh Nguu, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Dien district, informed: “Ms. Dang Thi Xuan belongs to a family facing housing difficulties. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day on April 30th, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Dien district and Huong Dien Hydropower Joint Stock Company provided 60 million VND in funding to build a house for Ms. Xuan.”

In A Luoi district, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City, in coordination with the Hue City Border Guard Command, commenced the construction of four new houses for families in extremely difficult circumstances in the communes of A Roang, Trung Son, Hong Thuong, and Lam Dot. “Each family will receive 60 million VND in support, drawn from the ‘For the Poor’ Fund of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City. Officers and soldiers from the border guard posts in the area will provide additional labor to ensure the project's progress,” said Nguyen Tien Nam, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City.

Currently, localities throughout Hue City are leveraging resources and racing against time to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for the people. Through sources from housing support programs and policies for people with meritorious services to the revolution; housing under national target programs; and from mobilization efforts of various sectors, levels, and localities... an increasing number of temporary and dilapidated houses have been eliminated with the highest determination to "leave no one behind".

"Everyone lends a hand, every household shares a part."

At a recent meeting of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the program to eliminate illegal logging and dilapidated houses in Hue City, Mr. Le Truong Luu, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Council, and Head of the Hue City National Assembly Delegation, emphasized: Eliminating illegal logging and dilapidated houses is an important and meaningful program implemented nationwide. Therefore, all sectors and localities need to coordinate closely to accelerate the implementation progress.

In some localities where additional disadvantaged households not already on the list emerge, it is necessary to proactively encourage social mobilization and encourage family members to participate. The important thing is to strengthen communication efforts and raise awareness so that people can improve their lives independently, without relying solely on mechanisms and policies.

"The list has been approved, the funding is available, localities must urgently complete the work of eradicating illegal logging and illegal logging before July 30, 2025," City Party Secretary Le Truong Luu directed.

By 2025, Hue City aims to complete the elimination of approximately 2,233 housing-related housing and social housing projects for beneficiaries such as war veterans, the poor, and those facing housing difficulties, under targeted housing programs in the area.

Concluding the 4th meeting of the Central Steering Committee for the implementation of the eradication of poverty and social housing nationwide on the morning of May 11th, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh , Head of the Steering Committee, emphasized: Each house is "a gift," "a warm home." "Everyone contributes, each household shares a part," "everyone helps with what they can, those who have more help more, those who have less help less, those who have labor help with labor, those who have resources help with resources," with the determination to fundamentally eradicate poverty and social housing nationwide before October 31, 2025 - two months earlier than the initial target.
