Pogba has not been able to make his Monaco debut. |
According to confirmation from new head coach Sebastien Pocognoli, Pogba is still in the final stages of injury recovery and cannot determine a specific return date. "We still need another week to increase the training volume. That will help him reach the best condition before playing," Mr. Pocognoli shared at a press conference on October 24.
The Belgian strategist also said that the relationship between Pogba and Monaco's medical team is being maintained very well: "He and the doctors always communicate closely to ensure Pogba can return in the most ideal conditions and with the most confident mentality."
On October 10, Pogba suffered an injury during a training session at Monaco's training center, causing him to be sidelined for the past two weeks. Before that, the club's fans expected to see Pogba on the field soon in his new shirt, marking a milestone in his return after a long absence. However, the coaching staff decided not to take the risk as the former MU midfielder's physical condition was still not 100%.
Monaco has been cautious with Pogba, especially since he has been away from top-level football for the past two years. In addition, the change of coach at the beginning of the season (when Adi Hutter was fired) has made it difficult for Monaco's board of directors to use Pogba.
