A Chinese citizen was rescued while drifting on the Ka Long River.

(PLVN) - On April 16, information from the Mong Cai International Border Gate Border Guard Station - Border Guard Force of Quang Ninh province stated that the unit had successfully rescued a Chinese citizen who was swept away by the water on the Ka Long River.

Previously, at about 17:30 on April 15th on the Ka Long river in the area opposite marker 1368 (2), during guarding and control, officers of the Mong Cai International Border Gate Border Guard Station discovered one person being swept away by the water.

Immediately afterwards, the Station Command directed the unit's forces to the location to organize a successful rescue operation. The unit's medical personnel provided first aid and conducted initial health checks. Currently, the victim's health is stable.

Mr. Vuong Ai Than received medical care and check-ups from the Border Guard.

Through work and verification, the victim's name is Wang Aichen, born in 1988, address: Nanjin Village, Xinxiang County, Hunan Province (China). During a trip to Dongxing (China), due to carelessness, he dropped his personal bag into the border river (Kalong River). Wang Aichen climbed down into the river to retrieve the dropped bag. While trying to retrieve the bag, due to the rising and fast-flowing river water, Wang Aichen was swept away to the area opposite marker 1368 (2).

At approximately 8:40 PM on the same day, the Mong Cai International Border Gate Border Guard Station handed over Mr. Vuong Ai Than to the Dong Hung Border Checkpoint at the Mong Cai International Border Gate.
