MU must buy a new goalkeeper

Signed by Manchester United for nearly £50 million from Inter Milan in the summer of 2023, Onana has failed to live up to expectations. His mistake in the recent Europa League quarter-final first leg defeat to Lyon once again highlighted the Cameroonian's lack of consistency.

Wrong decisions in ball handling situations, combined with poor communication with the defense, led to unnecessary goals.

It is impossible not to mention the problems that Onana has faced off the field. Recently, his family suffered a serious incident when his wife became the victim of a robbery. This situation certainly affected Onana's playing mentality.

With the current situation, United face a difficult choice. They must decide whether to continue to support Onana and hope he regains his form, or they must look for a new goalkeeper in the transfer market.

However, finances are complicating things. Given the transfer fee paid for Onana, buying another top goalkeeper and paying the wages of both managers could prove difficult given the club's current financial situation.

The situation is becoming increasingly tense as United still face major targets for the season, including qualifying for the Champions League and advancing further in domestic competitions. However, given the current form of their goalkeepers, the prospect of success in these arenas is becoming more difficult than ever.
