MU makes record bid for Mbeumo.

Manchester United have submitted a second offer for Brentford striker Bryan Mbeumo, reportedly exceeding £60 million.

According to The Athletic , this is seen as a decisive move by the "Red Devils" after their first offer was rejected earlier this month. If the deal goes through, Mbeumo will surpass Andre Onana to become the most expensive African player in Old Trafford history.

Bryan Mbeumo is Amorim's top transfer target this summer. After their initial offer fell through, Man United have avoided public talks and switched to quiet negotiations with Brentford, aiming to quickly reach an agreement before the start of the pre-season.

MU are determined to sign Mbeumo.

New Director of Football Jason Wilcox and officials at Old Trafford have clearly identified attacking as a pressing issue that needs addressing. Last season, Manchester United scored only 44 goals in the Premier League, the second-lowest tally among teams that avoided relegation and a far cry from the ambitions of a team eager to return to the top.

Mbeumo, 25, stands out for his speed, technique, and versatile finishing ability. Since joining Brentford for just £5.8 million in 2019, he has scored 70 goals in 242 appearances across all competitions, including 42 Premier League goals in 136 appearances. The Cameroonian star is considered one of the most consistent attacking players outside the "Big Six".

Mbeumo's current contract with Brentford expires next summer, although the club has the option to extend it for another year. However, Brentford understands that this summer could be the best time to sell him if they want to make a significant profit.

If the deal goes through, Mbeumo will become the second new signing to arrive at Old Trafford in the summer 2025 transfer window, after striker Matheus Cunha, who was signed from Wolves for £62.5 million.

Both signings clearly show that Man United are seriously investing in their attack to address their goalscoring problems, which cost them points and affected their form last season.
