Childhood and kites.
While in the past, after the Lunar New Year, kite flying would be bustling in Tay Do Square (Hung Phu Ward) or Nam Long II Urban Area (Cai Rang Ward), now the central area of Can Tho City has a new meeting place for windy afternoons: the An Binh resettlement area.

A little child was delighted when her mother bought her a kite.

After school, children are brought to the kite-flying area by their parents to play.
As evening falls and the sun begins to soften, the spacious area of the An Binh resettlement zone becomes bustling again. Adults, children, groups of students, and families flock here to enjoy flying kites. Before long, the sky is completely covered with kites of all shapes and colors.

This is also the "peak season" for those who sell kites and children's toys.

Besides traditional kites, the most striking are the giant aerodynamic kites – elaborately designed kites that catch strong winds, boasting unique shapes and vibrant colors. When flying, these kites transform the sky into a lively painting. Nguyen Thanh Binh (15 years old), residing in Long Tuyen ward, impressed everyone with his collection of over a dozen aerodynamic kites, each with its own unique design and considerable value. Binh enthusiastically shared: "Every time I fly a kite, seeing people stop to watch and admire it makes me very happy. The more praise I receive, the more motivated I am to collect kites and pursue my passion."

Nguyen Thanh Binh skillfully controls an aerodynamic kite. This job requires technique, dexterity, and strength.

And I felt satisfied watching the kites fly high.

Another young person chose to fly a kite with a whistle. The cheerful sound of the kite's whistle echoed in the sky, very pleasant to the ear.
Many young people come here as a way to "change the scenery" after stressful study hours. Ngoc Tran, a student at Nam Can Tho University, shared that she and her friends often come here to fly kites every afternoon. "At first, we just came for fun, but once we arrived, we realized the scenery is truly amazing. Watching the kites soaring in the wide sky, I naturally feel lighter, like I'm returning to my childhood," Tran said.

Ngoc Tran and her friend enjoy a romantic moment flying a kite.
No Wi-Fi, no video games, just the wind, the afternoon sun, and kites. And, forget about phone screens, computers, or TVs; come to the sky filled with kites soaring in the wind, and everyone, from children to adults, will happily "touch the ground and gaze at the sky."
