Since the military government came to power in February 2021, Myanmar has been mired in instability.
The U.S. Treasury Department recently leveled several accusations against the Myanmar military, including claiming that an airstrike on the village of Let Yet Kone in central Myanmar and another in Kachin state in the north killed 80 people.
The U.S. Treasury Department has also targeted Myanmar's military aviation fuel suppliers, imposing sanctions on Myanmar-based Asia Sun Group , Asia Sun Trading, and Cargo Link Oil Logistics.
Other individuals and organizations sanctioned include a close associate of the military junta leader, as well as the companies Star Sapphire Group of Companies and Star Sapphire Trading Company Limited.
