The US Treasury Department said in a statement it had imposed sanctions on two people and six entities linked to the Myanmar military, helping the military import, store and distribute jet fuel.

Since the military government took power in February 2021, Myanmar has been in turmoil.
The US Treasury Department recently made a series of accusations against the Myanmar military, saying that an airstrike on the village of Let Yet Kone in the central part of the country and an airstrike in the northern state of Kachin killed 80 people.
The US Treasury Department has also targeted Myanmar's military aviation fuel suppliers, imposing sanctions on Myanmar-based AsiaSun Group , Asia Sun Trading and Cargo Link Oil Logistics.
Other individuals and entities sanctioned include a close associate of the junta leader, as well as the companies Star Sapphire Group of Companies and Star Sapphire Trading Company Limited.
