Sputnik news agency reported on June 21, citing a press release from the multinational cybersecurity corporation Kaspersky Lab, that the US Department of Commerce has decided to ban all of the company's products from operating in the United States.
The ban was issued on June 20, focusing on prohibiting Kaspersky Lab's information, communication technology, and services (ICTS) transactions from September 29.
The US Department of Commerce also imposed numerous export restrictions targeting Kaspersky, and blacklisted the company and related entities "due to suspected collaboration with the Russian military and intelligence services."
Kaspersky's statement asserted: "First, this decision will encourage cybercriminals. International cooperation among cybersecurity experts is essential for effectively combating cyber threats. However, it is now limited."
Furthermore, American users and businesses will be unable to protect their devices from malware using industry-leading technology that has been independently verified.
Our existing customers in the U.S. will face a significant challenge as they are pressured to urgently find alternatives to the technologies they have relied on for years.
Furthermore, Kaspersky Lab affirmed that it will continue to protect the world from cyber threats, as well as protect its business from "wrongful acts aimed at harming the company's reputation and commercial interests."
Kaspersky Lab is a multinational cybersecurity corporation headquartered in Moscow, Russia.
This corporation is renowned for its many antivirus software and cybersecurity solutions, which are considered among the best in the world.
