The JASSM missile could appear in a US arms aid package for Ukraine this fall. If deployed, the JASSM would help Ukraine extend its strike range deep into Russian territory, potentially altering the course of the conflict.

This missile can strike Russian troop deployments and depots hundreds of kilometers away, disrupting Russian military operations.
The JASSM has a range of approximately 300 km, sufficient to strike Russian military bases in Voronezh, Bryansk, or bases in Crimea.
Currently, JASSM is only compatible with US-designed aircraft, but efforts are underway to make the missile compatible with other Ukrainian fighter jets.

Kyiv needs more powerful weapons to counter the increasing pressure from Russian forces on the eastern Ukrainian front. The JASSM is designed to be difficult to detect on radar and is capable of flying close to the ground, evading air defense systems.
The supply of JASSM missiles could force the US to lift restrictions on their use, as their effectiveness would be limited if they were not permitted for use within Russia.
Each JASSM missile carries a large, highly accurate warhead, with an advanced guidance system that allows it to find its target even under heavy jamming.
