On the morning of July 2nd, a meeting of the Appraisal Council for the gold mineral exploration project in Hon Mo O area, Duc Binh commune, Dak Lak province, and the project for primary gold mineral exploration in Dak Pring area, Dak Pring commune, Da Nang city, took place in Hanoi. The Council unanimously approved the projects after the investors and consulting units fully incorporated, revised, and completed all contents according to the Council's conclusions.

According to Mr. Trieu Trung Kien, M.Sc., from the Central Vietnam Geological Federation, the gold mineral exploration project in the Hon Mo O area was developed to clarify the geological characteristics of the mine, determine the quality and composition of gold minerals, calculate reserves according to regulations, and assess the engineering geological and hydrogeological conditions for future exploitation.
In the exploration area, the consulting unit plans to simultaneously implement items such as geological mapping at a scale of 1:1,000, trench excavation, machine drilling, sample collection and analysis, and hydrogeological and engineering geological studies to determine the distribution characteristics, morphology, and size of the ore body and assess its exploitation potential.
Regarding the project for exploring primary gold in the Dak Pring area, MSc. To Van Tuan from the Federation of Radioactive and Rare Earth Geology stated that the chosen method combination is suitable for the geological and mineralization characteristics of the exploration area; the network of structures is designed to meet the objective of calculating reserves at level 122.
The consulting unit determined that the construction process would be carried out in accordance with the procedures for mineral investigation, assessment, and exploration; during implementation, the volume would be adjusted to suit the actual geological conditions to ensure exploration efficiency and avoid missing resources.

The council unanimously approved the projects after the investor and consulting firm fully incorporated, revised, and finalized the contents according to the council's conclusions. Photo: Mai Dan.
Concluding the meeting, Mr. Tran Binh Trong, Director of the Vietnam Geological and Mineral Resources Department and Chairman of the Appraisal Council, assessed that the gold mineral exploration project in the Hon Mo O area was developed based on the regulations of the Law on Geology and Mineral Resources and its implementing guidelines; the objectives, scope, and basic technical plan are consistent with the mineral resource planning. However, the unit needs to continue reviewing and refining the project to ensure its scientific validity, improve reliability, and enhance the effectiveness of the exploration work.
Regarding the project for exploring primary gold mineral resources in the Dak Pring area, the Chairman of the Council assessed that the geological documentation, the selection of targets, area, network of works, and combination of exploration methods are fundamentally suitable for the mineralization characteristics and the requirements for assessing reserves at level 122.
However, due to the complex geological conditions of the exploration area, the discontinuous distribution and significant variations in the ore body, the investor and consulting unit need to continue reviewing and refining the project to ensure a full assessment of mineral potential, enhance the reliability of exploration results, and meet state management requirements.
